Getting there:Coming from Blenheim on State Highway 1, you turn left at the roundabout signed posted city centre. This is Trafalgar Street, the main street into Nelson City. We are five hundred metres from this turn off. From Christchurch, you will turn go around the roundabout and turn off at the third exit. This will place you on Trafalgar Street.

Nice hotel with spacious and clean rooms. Close walking distance to city centre and Trafalgar sports centre. Would stay again.

We try to stay at Trailways every time we go to Nelson these days as we find it very convenient, comfortable and in an attractive position being alongside the Maitai River. We have been there many times over the last 10 - 12 years. It is quite unique, being a smallish hotel but with an excellent restaurant and bar onsite. With Trailways being sited in Nelson City it is close to everything you need and places to visit. We find Trailways a relaxing place to stay. I am aware space is limited there but a larger pool would enhance the venue - for me. Hopefully we will return in the near future.

Exceedingly good value at the discount rate. The room was not the expected "due for renovation". The only negative was the noise of perhaps the swiming pool heat pump.

A very good hotel to stay at. Frendly staff,go out of there way to help you. Centraly located,excellent bar and dining facillities. We had a great five days stay.

Perfect spot by the river. Extremely helpful front of house staff. Excellent breakfast. Godd night's sleep apart from the occasional loud snoring noises from our neighbour!!!
Great location. Comfortable room. A pity that the walls are so thin that I was kept awake all night by the person in the next room snoring.
It was the 3rd time for me to stay there but every time when I was in the room the people next door made a huge noise and I had to wake up(neally called the front desk) so if you really need a nice quiet time in your room there,I would not recommend to stay there.Maybe thin walls??

Very happy with our comfy room, though felt that the ensuite could have more shelves, or small cupboard to for toiletries which would be especially helpful to guests staying for a longer period.
Excellent value for money and the broad band internet service they provide is the cheapest I have seen... very happy to stay there again
