We had two rooms at this hotel and found the location perfect. It is between Positano and Amalfi. Although we had a car, we parked it at the hotel and took the SITA bus. The parking was free. We ate several meals at the restaurant and the food was very good. Breakfast was good and plentiful, especially with the view every morning. Would certainly stay here again.
My husband and I recently returned from our honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast. We didn't know much about the area prior to our trip, but we were drawn to the scenic beauty and all the cultural attractions. We were so lucky to have found Hotel Tramonto d'Oro. Upon arrival, after an exhausting day of travel, we were greeted with friendly service, a beautiful room with a stunning view, and a complimentary fresh fruit tray and a bottle of sparkling white wine! Everything about the hotel was welcoming: the clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated rooms; the friendly and knowledgable staff; and the breathtaking views around every corner. The staff did a terrific job of helping us plan our days to get the most out of the Amalfi Coast; they made great recommendations and in most cases they called and made reservations for us. Tramonto d'Oro, translated to English, means "Golden Sunset." Every evening, we sat out on our balcony with a bottle of red wine (it seemed that each night's wine selection was better than the one before), and we would watch the sun set over nearby Positano. We simply could not stop taking pictures of the incredibly scenic and architectural beauty that surrounded us. In general, I highly recommend staying in Praiano. Praiano is completely beautiful in its own right. There may not be as many shops and restaurants there, but it's close enough to some of the larger towns along the Amalfi Coast, which are easily accessible by car or bus. We spent a lot of time traveling to different spots along the coast, but we always looked forward to coming "home" to Praiano at the end of the day. It's so quiet and peaceful there. We felt very safe walking along the streets at night. Leaving Tramonto d'Oro was difficult. We felt like we were saying goodbye to family. They gave us a small ceramic tile with our names on it to remember them, and they asked us to come back soon. We hope to come back many, many times!
Standard is with all the services but without sea-view
Room superior with all the services and sea-view
Room de luxe with terrace and sea-view
A wonderful classic family run hotel, they were most helpful. Breakfast was simple but very fresh. The views were stunning. When the weather is poor, the only down side is that there is not a lounge/bar for relaxing and reading, I think this would then encourage use of the dining facilities. Our room had a brick wall in front of our main balcony (Room 44), so do ensure you check this when booking.
Very good location and helpful staff. Good restaurant.
Nice hotel in an amazing location. The view is spectacular. Makes up for the outdated furniture and sub-par breakfast. All in all recommended.
The location of this hotel is very good between Positano and Amalfi with Breathtaking views from the balcony. Extremely good food, it give the feel of real a Italian seaside village. This was our second time there and will definitely come back!
Beautiful surroundings. "Room with a view". Delicous meals.
This is a really lovely hotel with a traditional feel but modern facilities and excellent service. The view of the Almalfi coast from the dining area is nothing short of spectacular. A would highly recommend this hotel.
What a wonderful location, topped off by the exceptional personalized and friendly service of this family operated hotel. My wife and I and our 2 and 5 year old children extended our stay as the atmosphere was so relaxing. We will return.
My daughter, daughter-in-law and myself stayed at the Tramonto d'Ora Hotel participating in a cooking course. The experience was unbelievable and the staff went out of their way to make our stay amazing. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.
