Overall, the Travelodge Newcastle is a well-equipped and comfortable hotel with pleasant staff and good amenities. However, make sure you have earplugs as the interconnecting doors from room to room are surprisingly thin and you can hear everything from the room next door.
Great location, spacious rooms, surprised at the quality of the evening meal but it was let down by the cooked breakfast which appeared to have sat there for too long. Will definitely stay here again.
Modern guest room. Room rates are for 1 or 2 people with maximum occupancy 3 people (extra guest is $40 per night). Room contains 1 queen bed OR two single beds, each room with a single sofa. Cots are $5.00 per night.

Hotel in a good location near shops and not far from city centre area. Staff were friendly and breakfast reasonable. Comfortable room and reasonable facilities given this is an older hotel.
The Travelodge Newcastle City is in Newcastle West, which is just outside the cbd, but 5 minutes by car to the beach, and a couple of minutes to Hunter St, King St in the City. Reception was friendly and efficient, the restaurant was top class, the room was quiet and it was a great place to stay after a day tasting wines in the Hunter Valley. I think I'll be back. I enjoyed it very much.
clean room, comfy bed, not an over full mini bar so we could add our own drinks to fridge. good location. problem with Restaurant not being open on public holiday you need do drive to resturant for dinner if you did not want Macca's or KFC. Staff helpful
Staff members were very friendly.... but the place is more like a motel than hotel in relation to facilities...no room service during the day or after 10 pm.... charged for parking that was not really secure.. ( I was not told of the charge at the time of arrival) couldn't give me local information , even after they Googled it... I then had to pay for the coin fed pc in the bar to Google for the information I required.. which was easily accessible!
A very comfortable room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Convenient location and good value for money.
The rooms were neat and tidy. However, the breakfast is not something i would recommend for $18. Very few choices and strictly average. Probably worth spending money at a cafe for breakfast.
The Travelodge is a practical down to earth honest hotel which well suited our needs. Room pricing is very good, however restaurant was expensive. Rooms are a good size, but light switching needs reviewing. Area generally quiet with many nearby facilities, within walking distance of city centre.
I thought overpriced for what was received.
bathroom in need of a refit, location fairly good except for the noisy pub down the road
A good hotel, worth staying at, dinner was surprisingly good, room good, bed very comfortable, I would stay here again
Helpful staff, ggod place to stay
Nice hotel but paidmuch more fo Newcastle than Sydney and thought perhaps they were taking advantage of a Conference on in town.
Central, clean and surprisingly quiet.Would have loved to have stayed longer.
Everything was good except the shower. To have decent shower was very hard either it was very hot or cold and the flow was very slow. It was very hard to feel the water on your body.
It was terrific, I had a group of 12 we were looked after well and will use it again.
Dinner was ordered by room service and it was delicious. Breakfast was nice. Staff were very friendly.
Mould was found in the bathroom, not the sort of thing that's exceptable in a star rated property. There was no breakfast room service available even though was supposed to be a 4 star rated property. No tables ready in dinning room when we did go down for breakfast as tables not cleared or cleaned. Would not stay here again.
The location of the hotel is great, the staff very friendly and helpful - the food available average and rather expensive. The breakfast very ordinary.
