"When we arrived on Friday night a sign said there would be construction drilling next door from 7.30am on Sat. We were not informed this at time of booking so it was disappointing we could not sleep in on Sat morn. The noise from the breakfast room was unbearable. I also wanted a room with a bath but all those rooms were booked that weekend. Room size was large, with table and sofa as well as bed. They only had 3 Sky channels and an exhorbitant price for movies on demand. Would stay again only for the $99 per night special incl. bfst and parking." - Anonymous
"Overall, highly rated. Being refurbished, so related 'chaos' was accepted. But jack-hammer was unwelcome at Saturday’s breakfast. Parking was inclusive. Staff & mngmt were goodl. Disability access room used. The size made working around a ‘parked’ wheelchair awkward. Bathroom tended to 'flood,' as the shower floor area gradient was bad. No shelving for shaver, perfume, etc. Same for shower. Large bathroom mirror. One flannel (for 2) & no hand towels was bad. (Hotel policy!) Black mark. The fridge was overdue for defrosting, but had an ice cube tray! Room servicing was very late, except when asked to be done by noon, for a meeting. No room temp. control (no air-conditioning!) Like most NZ hotels, www access fees are extortion! $NZ14/hour for a 10c/hour @ home service is exorbitant. Despite the drawbacks mentioned, if the [website] special bed and breakfast rate is available, I commend the Travelodge to others as a good place to stay and I’d stay there again, myself." - Perry Spiller
"Recently stayed at the Travelodge in Wellington for a business trip. Although the hotel is a bit older the rooms were in good condition and got a free upgrade to a room with a view - a very nice view at that. The rooms are small and basic but for a business traveller it has all that is required.
It is true the lifts are being upgraded but can honestly say i wasn't inconvenienced by this at any stage. All the staff were very curteous. When i arrived there was a problem with my online booking. Somehow it had been cancelled (not by me). The person on desk was great. He resolved the problem in a smooth, professional manner and there was never any suggestion that i would need to rebook etc. This is more than can be said for other hotels i've stayed at where a similar problem occured.
The location is great if you are planning on spending your time in the CBD." - Anonymous
"If you prepay for your evening meal, you can expect long delays in service. The evening reception staff also ignore your complaints. A third rate hotel, not recommended." - Martin Edwards
