Staff quite rude. No concept of service, welcome or atmosphere. Room not serviced the first night. However the hotel looked good with good facilities and the cost was excellent.

Hotel is in a very nice location with great views. Reception staff OK but the staff at breakfast were very dour. Hot breakfast not worth eating very poor quality, did not eat at hotel in the evening so cannot pass comment on dinner. The Spa facilities which we hoped to use were closed for the 3 days we stayed We travelled by car and were unhappy to have had to pay an additional 9 Euro per day for parking when there was no other choice we felt taken advantage of. (who else would park in the hotel's private underground carpark)

Good quality food served in dining room, unforunately ruined by a totally incompetent chef, lets face it you don't have to be a brillient chef to cook the bacon properly at breakfast. If I owned the hotel I would be asking myself why so many people went out of the hotel to eat an evening meal, you should encourage people to stay in the hotel, you loose so much income when they have to go out. It was a lovely quiet and tranquil hotel, we do not need a lot of entertainment, but someone playing the piano would have been nice. Please lift the ban on staff being able to smile

They messed up our booking (3 people in a standard room) and we had to wait a few hours after many hours of travel to get to our room. A bit of a disappointment. Fine, clean, enormous hotel right in Mijas which what we think could be an interesting place to visit even if we didn't have the time. Next to a bus line. Near a cash machine. Like most places in Andalusia, this place caters to the English.

A beautiful location in a most wonderful village. The serving staff had sadly had personality transplants....incredibly morose but seemed understaffed so they maybe had reason....reception staff were excellent...helpful, friendly. Breakfasts were good...not so the evening meals, again, the staff attitude did not help. Rooms were clean - would have liked a fridge in room, the room facilities were not quite what a good 4 star hotel (as this potentially is) should have. It has a country house appeal, deep sofas, lots of room and views to simply die for. So much potential let down by some of its staff... which is such a shame....for both the hotel and its visitors.

We booked this hotel because of the location and it is excellent for being right in the village of Mijas. Although classed as 4 star the rooms are very fairly basic and I have stayed in better 3 star rooms. we only ate at the hotel for breakfast and this was an average buffet. For example, there were no cooks on hand to prepare individual style eggs and one morning we waited for 10 minutes for a table to be cleared. We should not have paid as no-one checked you in or out of the dining hall! The beds around the pool area are a little tired and not the most comfortable plastic affairs but the view is fantastic! But, a good place to chill for a few days!!

My husband and I found the Mijas Hotel to be a marvellous base both in respect of Mijas village itself and also for the coastal areas nearby. Our room was clean and comfortable, very good fixtures and fittings though the view you get does depend on which room you are allocated. The buffet breakfast was comprehensive and quite acceptable. The staff helpful but unobtrusive and you can be very private here if you want to be. There is the full range of facilities one would expect of a 4 star hotel and the pool area wonderful. Also some cosy bars and sitting areas. In particular we loved the airy conservatory bar with the wonderful views in all directions (which opens up in the evenings after the pool bar closes). An added bonus are the hundreds of wonderful pictures on every floor and also in the bedrooms - giving a little added pleasure as you are making your way along the corridors to your hotel room! All in all we had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely use this hotel again.

The hotel was lovely and really quiet and peaceful, considering it was peak holiday time and totally full. My only reservation was the reception staff were extremely slow and only appeared to have one member of staff at any one time. Apart from that minor irritation, the hotel was really excellent.
