"This was my 2nd stay at Unico Sathorn & may I say that I had an even better time than my first stay there ... but only until my last moments there. I got a room on a higher floor so I got a better view (although the same room configuration which was quite luxurious). My room also had full blockout curtains (the other room did not), the room-girl gave me a generous amount of room toiletries every day & everything ran a lot smoother than previously. My only negative remark is that I checked out at 2pm (they kindly gave me a late checkout) but requested a Courtesy Room for a shower at 5pm when I had to take a taxi. I was referred to the swimming pool area which was totally unreasonable as I was in a bigger pool of sweat after being in that room than before I got there ... a Courtesy Room for Checked Out Guests is common in many hotels & Unico should provide one to maintain its high standards for its guests, right up until they walk out the door. "Not recommended. If you are like me and hate the smell of so called "air freshener" this place is not for you! There seem to be automated machines that spray this stuff all over the hotel. There was also a bad smell coming out from our bath's drain, which was quite surprising as this appears to be a very new hotel. " - Oliver Hutchison

"Slightly hard to find location in the soi, take the Thai map and phone number in case your taxi driver gets lost. Near enough to Silom Road, Skytrain and amenities. Friendly staff, and this place you have no problem to come and go or bring your guest to the room. Good for single traveller." - Anonymous

"Very stylish hotel with urban feel, smallish (but atmospheric and large enough) pool, impeccable service, good breakfast buffet (western *and* asian), newspapers and free internet access, very well situated only a few minutes from the Chong Nonsi skytrain station. There's a lively market around the back during weekdays. I look forward to staying at this hotel again next time I will be in Bangkok. The two times we took a taxi, the driver had no problem at all. The clientele consisted mainly of couples (hetero and gay), and appeared to be of the culturally interested type. I wish to relate an incident that epitomizes the hotel for me: when leaving the hotel for a few days, we discovered a few hours after check-out that we had forgotten some edible presents in the refrigerator. The manager - after ascertaining that those had been throw away by the cleaning staff - graciously replaced them upon our return a few days later with other local sweets of comparable value.
