Getting there:From I-5 Northbound or Southbound: Merge onto I-8 East for one mile to Hotel Circle exit. Turn left and go half a block to the inn. From I-8 Westbound: Take Hotel Circle exit and turn right. Proceed east for a quarter of a mile to the I-8 underpass. Go underneath the freeway and proceed for one block to the inn.
Check-in Procedure:All Cancellations/modifications must be made no later than 24 hours prior to arrival to avoid a penalty. Any Cancellations/modifications made after this deadline are subject to a penalty fee up to the total amount of the original reservation. No refunds after check-in.

Vagabond inn was close the house of the friend I was visiting. Everything was standard mid-level hotel-like. The room was clean with modern-ish appliances and a large enough, if older, tv with plenty of channels. The breakfast is a bit awkward because it is served in the lobby which maaaybe has room for 10 people and does not have any tables or chairs. I left the lobby balancing a bowl of cereal, another bowl with an apple and a hardboiled egg, and a cup of orange juice. If they had a space with tables, I'd probably go for the waffles.
I had a rough beginning - the heater malfunctioned; the smoke alarm went off and the computer driven lock malfunctioned - I was locked out and then I had to switch rooms. BUT that said, the staff was helpful; the room was clean, the beds were comfortable and it was cheap. I'd return.

Comfortable beds, well located and nice waffle breakfast. Pools were nice and warm...prices reasonable.
Good price considering Comic Com was in town. Everyone friendly, room great, beds were really comfortable. I will definately stay here again. We were busy the whole time we were in San Diego, SeaWorld, beach. Best motel yet in the 3 years we have come to San Diego.

Great hotel. Helpful staff, free waffle breakfast. Excellent location and very easy to find for us not familiar with San Diego. I would highly recommend and would stay there again.
Our main compliant was the fact that we booked a room that was not available when we got there but more to the point we wanted a non-smoking room but were given one tht stunk of smoke. If it weren't for that it would have been a good stay.
When I made my booking, I had zero knowledge about the hotel location. But I had no regrets as the hotel is located in the most easiest route and I had no problem looking for the hotel. I like the services provided and the hotel staff was so helpful.
I thought the hotel was nice. If you just want a place to sleep it's great, hopefully you will be out enjoying all the sights, and it is in the perfect spot for that!!!
