"My only real negative comment regards finding the hotel. If you do not see the first sign when you arrive in Guarga indicating the direction to find the hotel you could spend all day looking for it. The staff were friendly and helpful. Given this is near Porto they could offer a wider and better selection of Port to drink either as an aperitif or with the cheese. Their cheese selection was both unusual and excellent. " - Anonymous

Hotel description:    Located in the tallest city of the country the Hotel Vanguarda is at 1000 meters of altitude. It is one unit with 3 stars superior and has 82 rooms, all aclimatized and equipped. It has rooms for non smokers and wireless in all of the common areas. At only 300 meters of the historical center, also has a wide parking and covered garage.
The Panoramic Restaurant D. Sancho has a service à la carte and diary Buffet.

Getting there: From Lisbon (+-02h15), enter the A1 Roadway with direction to the North, abandoning the roadway in the exit for Torres Novas - A23 Roadway. Take the A23 Roadway passing by Abrantes, Castelo Branco, Covilhã and uses the Guarda Sul exit, with direction to the center of the City.
From OPorto (+ - 02h30), enter the A1 Roadway in direction to the South. In Albergaria, takes the A25 Roadway heading Viseu/Guarda and take the Guarda Norte Exit with direction to the center of the City.
From Coimbra (+-02h00), enter in the IC2 road with direction to the North. Take the IP3 road to Viseu. Before Santa Comba Dão, take the right exit heading Mangualde. Here, enter on the A25 roadway until the Guarda and take the Guarda Norte Exit with direction to the center of the City.
Since Faro (+ - 04h00), enter the A2 roadway to Lisbon and then follow the directions from Lisbon.
Check-in Procedure: O Check-in must be made between 15h00 and 00h00.
Car parking: Wide parking and covered garage.
