Vecellio Hotel Venice

"We found the hotel very good and staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was small but ok. Very close to Fondamente Nuove ferry stop." - Paula Cooke

"Difficult to find with map. Carneggio is the name of the main street on Grand Canal AND a district 20 minutes away. The hotel 30 minutes from the Grand Canal with gas station & water taxis in front. The light in the bathroom didn't turn off unless room key was removed which meant at night you must turn off the air conditioning (not an option in such a small room and such heat & humidity) to close light. We had rinsed out some clothing and they did not dry by morning due to the door being closed. The breakfast was lacklustre with buns & packaged toast/croissants, jam, butter & yogourt. At this rate we expected some cheese/fresh baked goods. Mini-bar had 2 beers. We called about water & was told it was in bar. According to the sign on the wall, linens are changed every 3 days by law. With record temperatures and humidity, dry towels/sheets would have been very welcome. The daytime front desk man was not so helpful in explaining the water taxis, water buses, and tour boats." - Helen Siwak

"We've stayed at the guest-house, wich is very nice and cosy, in an old bulding (renovated) ,just 3 minutes away from an important "boat-bus" station. The owners are young, very nice and helpful. the breakfast was simple but ok. The rooms are nicely decorated ,very clean, the bathroom has all the modern facilities; the only problem was that ,being an old house, you can here your upstairs neighbours running through the room (maybe it should be a rule about this for the guests ...in ALL the hotels, 'cause even in the new hotels you can EVERYTHING from the hall or other rooms). The price we got through your site was VERY good, last time we stayed in the continental part of the Venice (Mestre) because of the big prices on the island.
