the room didnt have a window to the exterior, it was in the center of the building

Comfortable room with pretty good bed. Some noise from adjoining alley (it is the city) and building water works but nothing over the top.

The hotel has old world charm about it. It is easy to explore the city due to its central location.

We have stayed here at least 3 times - it is a great location - across the road from Southern Cross Station, Etihad, trams and a short walk to shopping in the City. Staff are always friendly and very helpful.

We were very impressed with this hotel. On arrival the receptionist was pleasant and informative. We found the room was more than adequate, bedding was superb-and extremely comfortable The bathroom was not over the top but all that was needed.Linen was also first class . The location to Etihad Stadium, The Casino, Southern Cross Station , Trams and also the shopping outlet at Southern Cross Station were at our fingertips.

Great location for business. Bus from the airport to Spencer Street station is also very handy.

Great location, opposite Southern Cross Station. Hotel well presented with friendly helpful staff. Although the rooms were small and with small windows, they were very modern and clean. However as it was an old builing, the walls were thin and we could hear the guests in the next room, coughing, sneezing and talking loudly. Unfortunately, this has made us think twice about staying here again.

Hotel is less than a 2 minute walk from Southern Cross Station from where you can get the Skybus to and from the airport. There are also a couple of tram stops just outside the hotel. Bourke St Mall is only a 5 minute tram ride away. There is also a shopping centre located above Southern Cross Station. Hotel is ideally situated for anyone attending sporting events at Ethiad Stadium - a 2 minute walk. Only a 10 minute walk to HarbourTown. Staff on reception very friendly and helpful. Good food available in the Alexander Bar at reasonable prices.

An older style hotel room but with all I need:Internet,TV/SkyNews etc. The room had a bath ,which I enjoy & see as a big plus. Opposite Southern Cross station & Ethiad & a walk across river to Crown. So I considered it a favoured location for me.Supermarket in the next block & many shops in Spencer St complex opposite the hotel. I stayed for 4 nights & would stay again if the rate was value.There are many hotels this end of town including South Wharf & Docklands.

We enjoyed our stay. Glen was particularly helpful.

Quiet with a great bed and good pilllows

Great hotel, great staff and location is ideal. only complaint was that the water from the mini bar was not replaced daily.

The room was ok although the bathroom could have done with a thorough clean with bleach. Most of the staff were friendly and polite although the standard of English wasn't always great. The porter on the day I arrived, Glen, was excellent. He made every guest feel important and his service couldn't be faulted.
