Victor Hotel London Guest Reviews

3.8 out of 5

The accommodation was clean although the room was a little on the small side. The staff were helpful and polite at all times. We liked the location of the hotel as it was near to Westminster and the London Eye, River Thames etc.

3.8 out of 5

No more or less than expected from a hotel with such a reasonable rate in such an excellent location: clean decent facilities in the rooms (kettle, en suite, hairdryer, wi-fi, television) but with a phenominally uncomfortable bed! It wasn't luxury but it was good enough.

Hotel OK; just don't expect too much. More like a Guest House than Hotel really. Showing its age. Close to Victoria Train Station - about 10-15 min walk.

Good hotel in a central location. No lift - our room was on the 3rd floor so quite a struggle to get our bags up and down.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at the Victor. The desk staff were not very helpful or engaged. Seemed that they did not enjoy their jobs. However, the ladies serving the breakfast area were very nice, cheerful, and helpful. Great continental breakfast--wonderful croissants, good coffee, juice, cereal, toast, etc.! The room (#4) was very small, but clean and very quiet. The bed was on the hard side, which is better than being too soft. However, I would not say it was comfortable. I did not know that pillows were made that flat! I had to use three pillows. No shampoo! Wow...never experienced that at any hotel. We had to buy our own. They forgot to make up the room on the second day--the staff were very apologetic. Great location--easy to get around.

This hotel is very hospitable and has a great location only a few minutes walk away from Victoria station. There are a lot of great restaurants in the area as well if you want get hungry for something close by. The staff is friendly and they offer a nice breakfast of cereal, tea, coffee, milk, orange juice, toast, croissant, apples, bananas, and maybe a few other things I missed. Overall I enjoyed my stay and recommend it to any budget traveler.

This is a welcoming and comfortable hotel just 10 minutes walk from Victoria and with restaurants nearby in local side streets. A good breakfast is offered in the dining room. For those who might find stairs a problem, a room is available on the ground floor. Very reasonable prices.

Very friendly, helpful reception staff. Somewhat tired staircase with fairly narrow steps. No lift. Breakfast adequate. Number 24 bus stops right outside. Very close to Victoria tube and rail stations.

Much further down the road than I thought from Victoria Station. The hotel was quiet and comfortable with hot water and very good service. Good central location with many attractions nearby and good restaurants and pubs close at hand.

Our double room was really very small with just enough space for the bed and small wardrobe, more suited to be a single room really. Having said that, the bathroom was adequate and modern. One negative point is the Hotel does not have a Lift and we had to climb 72 stairs to our room which is tiring after a day shopping, etc. The reception is staffed 24 hrs though, which is good. The dining room (breakfast only) was very small and cramped with guests having to queue to get a table. On a whole, not bad value for money, mainly because of the location, the tube being very close by (for info: Pimlico is closer than Victoria), and a bus stop is right outside the Hotel. The hotel is close to a variety of shops, many restaurants, Sainsburys and a nice Pub, creating a 'village' atmosphere. Think I would stay in this area again, especially this Road but will try another Hotel next time (every other building is a small Hotel)
