Viengtai Hotel Bangkok

We book 11 rooms during the recent Songkram festival, the celebration held right in front of the main entrance and we found very interesting & enjoyable. The hotel is good except the aircond. is not very effective during the hot season and we are given 2 single-bed rooms instead of King size double bed as ordered. We are satisfied with the buffet breakfast & other services.

Very close to Kao San Rd. If you get a room facing the street - be prepared for ear plugs - unless you do not love the songs of more or less skilled songers in the nearby pubs. Swimmingpool

Good localitation in the best street. Recomanded

This is an old hotel (with a facelift) & with very little noise reduction considering it's extremely close proximity to all the chaos of Khaosan Rd. The breakfast buffet (for 220Bht if not inc in price) is ok, but you could do better by just venturing a few minutes around the corner. Check out time of 1PM was good.

Once I saw a rat on the corridor, but I guess thats standard in countries like that, would anyway without a doubt stay at the same place again, location and price are just unbeatable.

Everytime I go to through Bangkok, I always stay at the Viengtai. The hotel itself is comfortable and clean, the staff accommodating and I like the location. I would reccommend it for the price you pay.

As we only stayed there 1 night, we didn't use any facilities so it is hard to make a comment on them. Location was great as it seemed to be in the hub of tourist activity etc.

We found its location a haven in the old part of town with its vibrant chaotic Kao San road only one street away. However we could come back to a tranquil pool and quiet air conditioned room at any time and that worked for us.

We thought this was a shabby tired hotel that lives on its reputation but has not kept up the standards, in the first room we had the carpets were stained, the walls were bashed and marked and overall it needed refurbishing. The downstairs foyer area and the dinning room were all well kept and it was an excellent location but considering the amount of other hotels and guesthouses available in the area it is expensive.

Great location next to khoa san road .If you follow the road the hotel is on ,towards the river ,there are plenty of cheap places to eat that have great food,like whole snapper for 180 thb which was fantastic. and so much to do in the area .

An extremely good hotel, though slightly out of the way. Very good rooms, well kept and neat place, cordial and friendly service, good pool. If you want to just relax and not go anywhere this is the place. The fun & leisure activity operators anyway pick up and drop you back at the Hotel. To move around the other option is to rent a 2 wheeler scooter, you must have a valid International license. The spa is not recommended, if you have experience the Thai massages at Bangkok, then this is just overpriced glamour. Internet connection, there is only one at the reception, which was a limitation for me, though may not be for most on holiday.

The Viengtai hotel has a great location on the relaxed Rambuttri Road in Banglamphu running parallel to the more hectic Koh San Road. It it is clean and comfortable with good facilities and helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay there as it was in such a good location and good value.

Great place to acclimatize for 1 or 2 nights before starting your backpacking trip of Thailand. Location great.

The front desk attendents at Viengtai were the only rude people I came across during my entire 2 week trip to Thailand. The room is average but the location is great.

I order delux room but got an average room, maybe the average room is smaller than my room because it was enought for me as a single traveller. but for the price I paid I have no complain. very good breakfast for western people. very good location in the noisy Kao-san area. close to the river. I recommend this hotel for those who want location close to the river.

hotel is in a very good location, but room smells a bit weird. very big rooms, bathroom's clean. we went on some of the tours they have in the hotel travel agent.. and they werent very good... they took us to lots of random places.... and pressured us into buying stuff etc.
