Vila Gale Ampalius Hotel Vilamoura

Very comfortable bed, friendly efficient staff, lovely breakfast, ideal location. The third time I've stayed there and I am looking forward to going back.

Excellent location on the beach and within easy walking distance of the marina and casino. Friendly, helpful staff.

Could do with a refurb

Asked for a double bed but got two singles pushed together. Apart from this the hotel is great. Food is very good. Location is great, just next to the marina. Taxi rank is close by and so is a bus stop for Faro etc. Will definitely stay there again.

The hotel staff where all very pleasent and attentive to customers needs. The location is first class, 50 yards from the beach, 100 yards from the Marina. Our hotel room looked a bit shabby and was in need of a refurbishment. Despite requesting a double bed we got 2 singles stuck together, very annoying and the tv remote control did not work. However we still enjoyed our stay very much.

This is a gorgeous hotel, the room was lovely with perfect air conditioning (when you've figured out how to operate it), a keenly priced minibar and a neat little kitchenette. The view from the balcony was panoramic, all the way from the sea on one side to the glamorous marina. It's right across the road from a beautiful beach. Breakfast was great, anything you could possibly want and all fresh. My only quibble with the location is that the most conveniently close restaurants are those around the marina which are more expensive than in other locations in the Algarve. However the hotel room itself was very reasonably priced. Don't hesitate, the Vila Gale Ampalius is a luxurious experience.

We stayed in Vile Gale Ampalius in March 2007. What a lovely hotel, breakfast was excellent, and we had two evening meals in the hotel - a buffet for a Spanish evening and Portugese, €24 each including wine. We cannot recommend this hotel enough, and we would definitely return.

Very nice hotel with excellent views of a beautiful beach and the marina. Only a 2 min walk to the marina and shops and it has a secure carpark. Recommend you stay here if in Villmoura.

Booked a double room but the room had twin beds which were on wheels which moved around easily.

This hotel is by the beach and harbour, everything about it was very good. The staff was very helpfull and service good.

I felt the main pool area at the hotel was the only real negative. It was very bland and uninteresting with beds in rows and no plants or other greenery - just concrete. The children's pool and surrounding grounds however were very attractive. The buffet breakfast was average. Overall I would certainly recommend this hotel and would stay there again. The location for the Marina was excellent.

Very good Hotel to stay in. Don't forget to get the breakfast best I every had overall very good hotel.

Great location next to the beach.

we were very pleased with this hotel and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. we had a very nice stay and the food, service was exellent and the staff very helpfull. We will be using villa gale Amalius again next year.

I had no problems from start to finish of our stay. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I am planning another stay in the area and this hotel is the one I plan to stay at.

We actuallly stayed for 6 nights at the Vila Gale Golf outside Albferia which was excellent. Our last night we came into the Ampalius which weas excellent. The location make even more so. I would recommend either of these Hotels to anyone.

Fantastic hotel. The location couldn't be better. It is right in the middle of the the casino and nightclub and the marina. The beach is just in front of it. Lots of facilities with nice big, sunny rooms. We would definitely stay here again.

Ideal position for beach and marina area of Vilamoura. Also, good discounts for golfers green fees on most courses in the surrounding areas of the Algarve, with many having free shuttle buses to and from the courses at times to suit yourselves. Highly recommended for golfer's, couples and families.
