Vila Ombak Hotel Lombok

This hotel and the staff are what movies for tropical paradises are made from. What an amazing 4 nights we had. I would recommend this hotel and island to everyone. The room was huge, so was the bed, the air con stayed on all night. The whole place was fun, we made some lovely friends. Can't wait to go back!!!

Swimming pool was awfull because of the possibility to drink and eat in the pool. Many children eat there and after that washed their hands and mouth with the water. That was very unhygienist! Nice and quite bungalows!

Vila Ombak is a great place to stay on Gilli Island. The service is excellent, the Vilas are tastefully set up and the bed is very comfortable. The view is amazing and the snorkeling on the island is wonderful. After the traffic chaos in Bali, it is wonderful to have no cars. We will come back.

This hotel is one of the best, if not the best hotel on the Gili Trawagen Island. It is clean and well maintained. The location of this hotel is excellent with the majorty of the resturants and bars on your doorstep. This hotel also has its own ATM machine (only one on the island, has an excellent dive centre and staff, a doctor in the hotel 24/7. Overall this hotel is excellent value for money. The only negative in my opinion was the service in the hotel beach bar which was very slow but this is the same in every resturant on the island and in general it is well worth the wait. Also the laid back approach of the staff provides an excellent relaxing atmosphere.

Originally booked a Lumbung room and had to move. Rooms are small, cramped. Bed is on the ground and access to the bathroom is via a narrow doorway and steep ladder/staircase. Perhaps culturally interesting, but not user-friendly and comfortable. Moved/upgraded to a wonderful family room. Aicon didn't maintain a cool temp, so a bit hot for sleeping. No smoke-free area in the restaurant.
