Getting there:When travelling to a small tropical island, half the fun is getting here. There 2 mains ways to get to Gili Trawangan. If you are travelling from Bali, there are daily domestic flights to Lombok International Airport, in Praya. A scenic 2 hour car ride through the cities and villages of Lombok takes you to Teluk Kodek Wharf then the infamous 10 minute speedboat ride to Gili Trawagan. Alternately, if you can’t seem to pull yourself away from the sea, you can take one of the many Fastboat rides available from Bali. These usually depart twice a day in the morning and afternoon. They take 2 hours from Bali directly to Gili Trawangan Public Harbour. From here, you can catch a hose/cart (cidomo) to our doorstep. Most Fastboat include hotel pick-ups and drop-offs free of charge from most areas in Bali.

Car parking:A “no car or motorbike” policy, to keep the peace and reduce pollution, with the only modes of transport being horse & cart (cidomo) or bicycle.
Child Policy:No charge for a maximum of two children under 5 years of age, sharing the same room with their parents and using existing bedding. Extra meal for breakfast will be charge based on restaurant menu.A baby cot is available on request. Baby-sitting service as well as special baby food can be arranged.
This hotel and the staff are what movies for tropical paradises are made from. What an amazing 4 nights we had. I would recommend this hotel and island to everyone. The room was huge, so was the bed, the air con stayed on all night. The whole place was fun, we made some lovely friends. Can't wait to go back!!!
Swimming pool was awfull because of the possibility to drink and eat in the pool. Many children eat there and after that washed their hands and mouth with the water. That was very unhygienist! Nice and quite bungalows!
A unique traditional Lumbung roof brings cozy atmosphere that close to nature. The two storey building with four different rooms in one complex unit allow a private holiday to come, all of them equipped and facilitated with modern amenities. The spacious terrace comfort for sunbathing or staring to the clear night stars while enjoying the marvelous surrounding area.
A concept in which the traditional Sasak architecture of Lombok is combined with modern amenities in a very unique way. The traditional Lumbung roof functions as an upper floor bedroom and can be reached from the adjacent big balcony, a spacious open-air living room-area is underneath. The large semi-open bathroom at the backside can be accessed from the bedroom via a staircase (from an opening in the floor of the bedroom) or from the downstairs living area
The rooms are half houses that have large sleeping and living areas, they also have a Balé (a spacious lounging area) integrated in the room which can easily be used as a bed for children or foran extra person. Each room has twin beds that can be moved side by side to become a double bed. A mosquito net can be provided though it is rarely needed. All Deluxe Bungalow rooms have spacious semi-open bathrooms.
Each Deluxe Ombak Room has a large lounging area (Balé) for daytime relaxing which can be easily transformed into comfortable beds to make this a perfect family unit. The bathroom is semi-open and you can enjoy a shower under the sky next to a little garden corner.
This blend of moderen and island feeling embraces its natural surroundings to give you a view onto the sea over gardens and againtsthe backdrop of Lombok's mighty Mount Rinjani. Spacious partly coverd terraces provide for both sunbathing and lounging; as well as functioning as a living area where you can sit, meet or dine.
Vila Ombak is a great place to stay on Gilli Island. The service is excellent, the Vilas are tastefully set up and the bed is very comfortable. The view is amazing and the snorkeling on the island is wonderful. After the traffic chaos in Bali, it is wonderful to have no cars. We will come back.
This hotel is one of the best, if not the best hotel on the Gili Trawagen Island. It is clean and well maintained. The location of this hotel is excellent with the majorty of the resturants and bars on your doorstep. This hotel also has its own ATM machine (only one on the island, has an excellent dive centre and staff, a doctor in the hotel 24/7. Overall this hotel is excellent value for money. The only negative in my opinion was the service in the hotel beach bar which was very slow but this is the same in every resturant on the island and in general it is well worth the wait. Also the laid back approach of the staff provides an excellent relaxing atmosphere.
Originally booked a Lumbung room and had to move. Rooms are small, cramped. Bed is on the ground and access to the bathroom is via a narrow doorway and steep ladder/staircase. Perhaps culturally interesting, but not user-friendly and comfortable. Moved/upgraded to a wonderful family room. Aicon didn't maintain a cool temp, so a bit hot for sleeping. No smoke-free area in the restaurant.
