This was a great place to stay and see the ruins. It was so much better than I was expecting that I wish I would have stayed another night. Great services.
Good for just one night if visiting the ruins. Wouldn't want to stay there any longer. Need to catch a taxi to town. Restaurant at the hotel suprisingly good. Rooms all feel a bit dank but visually okay and seemed clean.
Nice hotel, located 10 minutes walk from the hotel entrance to the ruins. Very nice room, however, lacking a TV. Staff not too friendly though...
Excellent location and nice hotel, but service impolite and unfriendly and food totally tasteless.
We liked this hotel very much: it is very beautifully decorated, and perfectly located for the Chichen Itza site. A kindly staff member waited up to greet us when we came in several hours late - after midnight - following some flight delays. The pool is nice (a little chilly unless it's hot out); the garden setting charming; and I could connect to wi-fi and plan our next move as I sat under the trees. It is excellent value: not pricey at all. There were only two things we did not like: the breakfast was not very good - just some slightly stale bread, honey, and jam (though in the end, we were not charged for the extra items we ordered to supplement this); and it was not possible to open a window in our room, which was therefore very stuffy, or else very, very noisy if we left the aircon on (and we both hate aircon). Otherwise, great - but be warned: the bed was short (they do warn tall folk, over 6 ft, to go elsewhere - still, at 5'11 and 6 ft neither of us really fitted very well).
beautifull hotel. dinner and breakfast are a bit pricy and the water system isn't of the greatest. but overall it's a good hotel
we love the villa connected to the pryamid sites we love the quietness of the pool and rooms are so healing and a place to do yoga and meditate on the energy of Chichen Itza keep up the good work. we love Mexico and the culture.
The Villa Arqueologica has very small rooms - which is fine if you aren't planning on being in them much. There are no tvs, which is also fine if you aren't craving that. The food was okay, not spectacular, but still good. The eating area in the courtyard is cute and relaxing to be at. The drive into the entrance to the hotel makes it look very shabby, so don't be scared! The entrance and lobby are are just fine. The gift shop was never open so we couldn't see what they had to offer. Overall, it was an okay place to stay. The beds were very hard, fyi.
Perfect location! Park your car at the hotel and walk to the ruins of Chichen Itza!
Lovely friendly hotel in an excellent position to walk to the ruins. Pool lovely and food good. Room was very small but everything else made up for that.
Very good hotel in an excellent position for visiting Chichen Itza
We were very impressed with this hotel and the staff. The accomodations were excellent and the food was good. The location so close to Chichen Itza was just right. We highly recommend this hotel and lcoation.
The food at this hotel is outstanding! We went back for lunch after checking out and touring the ruins. Be sure to try the Azteca Soup and the Chili Rellenos. The Chiliaquiles Verdes was our breakfast favorite. The location was a bit difficult to find due to lack of signage. Just be sure to follow the Hotel Zone signs just past the ruins heading west. It is a very sharp right turn off the highway then just a half mile or so down the road.
continental breakfast very "basic" for the price(125 pesos):we had to pay it although it was concluded in the (prepaid) room rate! all food and drinks rather expensive
We lost some documents at the hotel and it took a long time to get a help from the hotel staff. But eventually everything went on ok.
We found the staff at Villas Arquelogicas very friendly, helpful and efficient, but quite unobtrusive. The room was nice, and from our window we could view iguanas in the garden. The food was good. The swimming pool, while small, was adequate and very welcome in the heat of July. Two particularly nice touches were the archeological artefacts positioned throughout the hotel, and the welcoming cold drink at check in - very much appreciated after a long drive! We would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Rooms are small but attractive. Location near the ruins is helpful (you can walk).
A very convenient place to visit Chichen Itza (10mn walk). The restaurant is nice as well.
Friendly staff, comfortable room, very good location and good food.
Down to earth, little bit outdated in style and facilities but OK, very close to Uxmal site (less then 5 min. by car).
