Villa Bellavista Hotel Praiano

"It was quite difficult to find, . The hotel was quite clean Most of the rooms had terraces with great views to the sea. Unfortunately they placed us in another bldg up the hill it was not as good as the hotel itself. We stayed for the dinner, big mistake, the owner thinks that he is a chef, not so. Dreadful meal altogether. fish was swimming in oil; the soup was awful. The breakfast was simple but pleasant. The lady was somewhat surly. We noticed that most guests were German and she was most gracious and pleasant with them but not so to us. A very obvious thing. We were not happy there so checked out a day early , the lady in question was not very happy with us about that. We would not return to that hotel. Perhaps had we stayed at another more prominent hotel in the area our experience would have been different. I guess you get what you pay for. . All in all I would not recommend the Bellavista to a friend Thanks for listening." - John McMerty

"Hotel situated in centre of town below the main road and accessible only via flight of steps. Difficult to find. When I stayed there, the hotel's parking was full so had to park 150m down the road. 'Beach' ie rocks can only be reached by a great many more steps - however, this is common on the Amalfi coast. Hotel offers breakfast and dinner on a terrace overlooking coast with view to Positano. "Huge amount of steps to climb from the hotel to the main street where the bus stop is located. The steps are a killer and I would not recommend if you have heavy suitcases cos "what goes down must come up". Had to pay the porter when we left to carry cases. Dutch Hotel owners werent very friendly, and the room was not ready when we checked in at 3pm. No menu's at night in the restaurant so you dont know how much the meals are, only a few meals offered, there are plenty of places in praiano to eat, so dont waste your time at the villa bellavista.Great view from the balcony tho and good b/fast in the morning. Shower leaks and is pathetic. Would not stay at the hotel again, prefer to stay in Positano than Praiano." - Debi Robison

"Lovely hotel with great staff! small with only 20 rooms it has a homely feel to it. The package that includes dinner is worth it, 3 courses with desert. Nice variety and very very nice, much better than going out to restaurants. Theres not much places to eat except for 2 rather expensive restaurants near by otherwise you have to bus to amalfi.
