Classic villa converted into a hotel, alothough the rooms are rather small, there's a nice "old school chic" ambiance to them with upholstered walls and high ceilings. The location is good, a few blocks walking distance from Termini Station. Staff is generally pleasant and accomodating (except maybe for the weekend night receptionist), and the breakfast cook is a hoot! Would stay again for the same price.
Dark room : very small window, a bit far from metro but 200metres from bus stop.
There should be internet available for the guests in the hotel
no internet
The room was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. While not in the ideal location it wasn't far from the key sites. I would stay there again
Charming old villa, but needs some efforts to look fine again.
if you are worried about italian taxi fares then - for hotel take bus 36 from front of termini station, it stops just beyond the hotel, one stop after porta pia junction; alternatively metro station castro pretoria but it's a bit of a walk. nice, friendly, clean hotel in restored 19th.century villa at very competitive prices
A typical and personal Italian "pensionat". Very good staff and warm service. Not for people, who prefers chain hotels and wants always similar standard product.
This place is fantastic! Its situated in a lovely, leafy neighbourhood which is very quiet on weekends and not too chaotic during the week. About 10 mins walk from a metro station. There are lots of cafes and Trattorias in the area which are off the tourist-beat, and draws in the locals - plenty of superb dining options. The staff - I liked everyone except the evening/weekend receptionist (who kept wanting to hoist a tour on me), and found them all friendly and willing to help. There's a very informal, cosy, family atmosphere in this hotel. The only hitch was lack of internet connectivity, which was fine for me as I was on holiday! The rooms are comfortable, cosy and warm during the cold autumn evenings. As a woman travelling alone, i felt very safe in this area and in the hotel. Its very good value for money too. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to stay away from the bustle of Termini area, but still experience a real slice of Roma.
I was totally satisfied with the hotel. Typical Italian surrounding and atmosphere. Great!!!
Great hotel if you want to be out of the busy downtown area but within easy reach of it, easy to drive to and then park at hotel and use public transport. Small rooms and bathrooms but clean and comfortable with lovely character. Breakfast is basic continental. Alberto was a great help and made us feel very welcome.
The hotel was easy to find (just check the directions they have given) and the hotel is situated in good, peacefull area compared to the hotels situated near the sightseens. The metro isn't too far away and there are few busses going near the hotel to the termin and to the most popular sightseens. The staff is friendly and can give you advices where to go to eat and what to see. The hotel isn't the newest one so there might be some small holes in the carpet on _the corridors_ (not in the rooms), but it's clean and we liked the furnishing! We definetly recommed this hotel.
The Villa Florence Hotel is a relative small hotel with limited facilities. The rooms are clean, however quite small as well as the bathroom. From an Italian hotel you may expect more from breakfast which is quite poor and could be easily upgraded with some fresh products, taking into consideration the rating of a *** (*) 3.5 star Hotel.
the staff were wonderfull. but i had the room beside reception and the elevator and dining room, which was VERY noisy. the room was very clean, a good size, and cheerfull, with a very modern bathroom. but the bathroom window didnt close or lock. a little worry, but there all the same. would recommend the hotel to anyone who didnt need to be in the centre of rome.
It is a very nice and cosy hotel. The staff is helpsome and give great service.
This is a neat little hotel, with lots of character and a convenient location near to Termini but far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle. With nice size rooms and clean bathroom, this is good value for money. Only drawback is no internet, Wi-Fi or otherwise, at least in the lobby and standard/double rooms so maybe not suitable for people who need to work as well as play in Rome.
Hello, I have just returned from a recent stay at the lovely Villa Florence Hotel Rome. We had such a nice welcome as soon as we arrived through the doors. Straight away, I was at ease as I wouldn't normally book through internet such holiday stays. Leading up to the hotel is very beautiful also..the photos don't seem to do the hotel justice from the web page...our room was fresh and nicely decorated also. We had some nice drinks out on the little Patio each night before venturing to the train station which was only a 5 minute walk away. You feel like you are a world away, but still in the city...all the staff were so friendly and attentive to our requests. An extrememly nice time was had, and more than that, I was so pleased as it was a last minute surprise b'day present for my husband and he was totally thrilled with the place as was I.
Only downside was the airco, which is central and can only be shut off in case it is too cold (which it was, probably due to the high temperatures outside). But that was no unsurmountable problem for this lovely villa combining nostalgic european atmosphere with modern comfort and good location.
Satisfied with our stay at Villa Florence. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Only negative: the triple we got was obviously a double with an extra bed crammed in at a rate of 47% more than the double.
Everything was as expected
