Localita La Francesca 19011 Bonassola (SP)
The Village is situated in a protected area (15 hectars rich in trees and flowers typical of the mediterranean regions) close to the National Park of the Cinque Terre. La Francesca is situated in a bay facing the sea of the Cinque Terre with three beautiful gulfs, between Punta del Carlino and Punta Gone. The wild and charming landscape presents geologic charateristics and remarkable rocky beds. Tourists, who nowadays are more and more desirous to find unspoilt places, find in La Francesca the ideal place for a stay in all seasons. There, they can go through old tracks and discover landscapes, scents and natural flavours. Private beach available for our guests. A pet (small animal) could join the village by paying 7 euro per day. Some of the hotel facilities could be not available during the winter period.

Getting there:By car: Genova-Livorno motorway; exit at Carrodano-Levanto. Get to Levanto and follow the road to Genova-Bonassola. After 3 kms, at a crossraods, turn left to Bonassola. After 300 m turn left again to La Francesca. By train: Roma-Genova line, Levanto station; then 4 kms by taxi. By plane: Genova airport, 70 kms from the Village.

Nice self contained room, but quite isolated place to stay if you don't have a car. We relied on taxis which was expensive. The seafood restaurant at the bottom of the hill was nice, with a small shop attached for supplies but the walk back up was rather hard work! Nice place to base yourself for Cinque Terre, surrounding towns have lovely restaurants. Interesting experience trying to have a swim in the hotel pool (think it's an italian thing...) where we had to wear swimming caps. Also had problems getting replacement towels and toilet paper, 'apartment' didn't get serviced during our stay at all. Would give it an overall average rating.
