Vista Alegre Hotel Bilbao

My room was not very clean, and it did not have much light (the window was facing concrete wall). But there were better rooms in the hotel! The hotel suggested very basic continental breakfast, but there was a big supermarket store neat the hotel. So if breakfast is not included, one may prefer to buy food in the supermarket instead of buying the hotel breakfast. The location is very good indeed, around 15-20 minutes by foot from the termibus, train station, Guggenheim museum, city center etc. But some neighboring streets were not fun to walk at night. They seemed not safe enough, though nothing dangerous happened. I am talking about the San Francisco neighborhood. Overall, it is an OK place to stay, mainly due to its convenient location.

Within walking distance of the city centre. Budget hotel that includes a continential style breakfast. Although the room may require sound proofing as it is fairly easy to hear the other occupants in the other rooms.

Had a very pleasant stay. The location perhaps is not the best, but not the worst either. The surrounding area is a touch seedy - but that´s Bilbao! However, it is 5 minutes´ walk to the Train Station, which is very convenient if you have an early train to catch. Perhaps 10 - 12 minutes´ walk to Casco Viejo. Staff is very helpful and speaks English well. Nice room with good-sized bathroom and the property itself is very charming.

The facilities there may not be so good expecially no air-condition which could be less comfortable during summer hot and sticky weather. The service is absolutely 5-star. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the price is quite attractive as well.

Decor/bed linen were clean but very worn.

For me this hotel was great. Is was the cheaper found on internet, but was a great surprise. It was very easy to find it from the highway exit (centro Bilbao), and signs everywhere give the directions, and it is actually located very close to the highway. The service is good, and sympathic. So, for me it is a hotel to recommend.

Pleasant staff, good English spoken and advice offered re. places to see restaurants to visit. Room basic but clean. Well positioned for visiting Guggenheim and other museums. Has under ground safe car parking at a reasonable cost.
