"The hotel was OK for an overnight stay and close to Darling Harbour, however, not somewhere I would want to stay longer. Rooms were small but comfortable. Check in took ages (around 20 minutes), because one single staff member had to keep answering the phone, which rang continuously. There were no "smoking" rooms available even though the tick box suggested there were on the website." - Anonymous
"Great hotel but unfort the staff let it down. We asked for a taxi to go to Newtown and were told by staff member that there was no pointing phoning for one as it wouldnt come-why not give it a go anyhow? Also breakfast was a rip off. Sadly!" - Anonymous

From the City or Darling Harbour to the Vulcan Hotel:
The Vulcan is not hard to find, if you remember to take into account the one way system. You can only approach the hotel end of Mary Ann Street from Wattle Street. If you find yourself on Harris Street, turn into Thomas Street and then right into Wattle Street.
From The Sydney Harbour Bridge to The Vulcan Hotel:
Cross bridge and keep right. Do not go into the city.
As you go down you will come to a fork in the road, on your right is the aquarium. Fork right.
After you have gone through four sets of traffic lights, youll come to a junction where you can only turn left or right.
Turn right, at those lights
You should now be on Pier Street.
At the next set of lights, turn left onto Harris Street.
At the third set of lights, turn right into Thomas Street.
At the end of that road, turn right into Wattle Street.
After 20 metres the hotel is facing you, on the corner of Mary Ann Street.
