Wainui Beach is situated 5 minutes (by car) north of Gisborne city centre and 100 metres from the sand and surf of Wainui Beach. We have 9 tidy, self-contained 1 and 2 bedroom ground floor units which are serviced daily on request (full service available on 4th day of stay). All of our units are non-smoking.
We are proudly a classic New Zealand beach holiday motel with lush gardens, grassy lawns and BBQ areas right outside your room. Our facilities include Sky-TV, free WIFI internet, guest laundry, a grass play area for the children, an inground pool, and a large sun deck to enjoy a few drinks and watch the sun go down.
The local Wainui Store is within easy walking distance (400m). They do fresh fish and chips and homemade burgers from Wednesday to Sunday and brunch from 9am on the weekends. Continental breakfast packs are available at reception. This is the perfect location for your annual summer holiday or for a short winter break when the sun is shining only in Gisborne.

Getting there:
We're 50 minutes by Air New Zealand from both Auckland and Wellington, and around 6-7 hours by car ... a great road trip and a scenic adventure either way. Wainui Beach is 6 kilometres from Gisborne city centre, heading north on State Highway 35, also known as "The Pacific Coast Highway". From Gladstone Road, cross over the bridge and continue onto Wainui Road until you see the sign to Wainui. Turn right and follow the road veering left (Wairere Road).
