Getting there:In the case of coming by the train It takes 5 minutes from JR Kyoto station to Shijo station and then takes 8 minutes on foot from Shijo station to Watazen. It takes 5 minutes from a private line Hankyu Karasuma station to Watazen. Come out as Shijo from both underground-passage exits of No. 13. Walk on the left, the first line is turned left, and it is half two lines. In the case of coming by the car Get off Meishin highway road at Kyoto-minami IC, go straight on R1 towards north till the end and turn right at Touji-Temple. Go straight on Hachijyo st. towards east and turn left at Horikawa st. and goes north. then you will be at Shijyo-Kawaramach. Turn right at Sijyou st.towards east then you will see the Starbuck Coffee Shop and turn left at it corner. You will find our hotel after across two streets. (From the highway to our hotel is about 8km.)
Check-in Procedure:We can keep your luggages every time. Check-in 16:00 check-out 10:00. We cannot accept travellers chek. Please let us copy your passport.
Car parking:Guidance in a parking lot I have shown the nearby pay parking lot, it is 2,000yen , 24 hours. Please announce the direction of a car beforehand.
Child Policy:The child is 1050 JPY untill 5 age. But if you need a "futon"(japanese style bed) , the price is 3675Yen.
Good location!
Clean hotel in typical Japanese style with friendly, helpful staff. Nice rooms of decent size. Good location near Shijo train station (10 mins from Kyoto station), close to bus stops and Gion. Well placed to access shops, restaurants and most of the popular tourist attractions. Would definitely recommend. Only downside if you're shy is the communal bathing area (maybe some rooms have own shower though).
The location is fantastic, just a few blocks from Nishki Markets and town centre. Staff is very helpful and kind. There was lots of places to have good food so did not eat in their restaurent.
Fantastic location, clean rooms and incredibly helpful staff. The staff even booked my accommodation in Koguchi and Nachisan, and ensured I had directions to get there!
Fantastic place! Staff are friendly and try to accomodate needs (little english spoken). There is no curfew!Location plus! It is about a 10 min walk from Shijo (Karasuma) subway station, which is 2 stops from Kyoto JR station. It has a starbucks and 99 store conveniently located down/up the road but try the bakery on Shijo-dori (just up the road and on the opposite side from starbucks). It is walking distance to many attractions in Kyoto such as Nishiki Food Market, Teramachi shopping arcade, pontocho,Gion,and Gion Shrines/Temples . If you want to see Geishas, walk down the street that Gion Corner is on and maybe spot a few geisha in the afternoon or early evening. We were lucky enough!! The Golden Pavillion is about 10 min walk and 20 min bus ride but worth the trip. We stayed 2 nights and thouroughly enjoyed the ryokan experience. The rooms and bathrooms are small but this is usual Japanese standard. There is enough room to be comfortable!
The location was fantastic and the staff made our stay very pleasant. It was a great experience.
