"I like the old world charm of the hotel but they are in the middle of remodelling and it smells like it. There is no parking with the hotel so you need to take your chances with the parking officers if you get in late at night. The rooms at the front are very noisy early on due to the number of trucks in the street and I did have a communicationproblem when the night staff didn't relay my late check out request to the morning staff. Good location though. Would consider it again if the room was off the street." - Lara Adlington

Located within the central business district, and near to Parliament and the Lambton Quay shopping area of Wellington, the Wellesley Boutique Hotel features old-world charm in a convenient location. Guest rooms are spacious, inviting and individually decorated to match the style of the period.
The Wellesley Boutique Hotel building when constructed in 1925 – 26, was the pre-eminent building in the Georgian style in Wellington, a major work of the architect, William Gray Young. It was awarded an Institute of Architects Gold Medal in 1932. It has remained little changed to the present day, with all major internal spaces in near original condition and displaying the highest level of craftsmanship in fittings and finishes.

From the airport, the drive is 20 minutes long. Follow the exit signs to Wellington City. This is State Highway One. At the corner of Buckle and Taranaki Streets, turn right and follow this road for approximately 200 metres north. Turn left into Jervois Quay. Follow Jervois Quay north for approximately two kilometres. This road becomes Customhouse Quay. Turn left into Ballance Street. The Wellesley in on the left-hand side of Ballance Street.
