Very pleasent, got stuck in the lift tho, bit scary, didn't use it again. Rooms look a bit rundown but good value for this location. If it was done up the price would have to go up too, so would rather pay less and stay longer.
We enjoyed the stay indeed. The Restaurant needs attention - Prices can not be compared to other facilities in Wildernis Village. Pleasantly surprized with accommodation
2 Double beds with on suite bathroom, tea/coffee making facilities, sattlite TV, rooms with sea view or pool facing view.
The hotel is situated in a very sought after location close to the beach. A car would be needed to go the small village of Wilderness however it is very central to other places of interest and it served good as a base to drive out from and return to. We liked the hotel even though we feel that the hotel needs some refurbishing done to the rooms. Excellent breakfast. Otherwise we recommend it to anyone driving along the garden route.
As other reviews say value for money. Clean hotel just a bit dated you get what you pay for. Location walk down steps to beach dolphins swim by. I have to agree with other reviews clean the pool even if this means charging a couple of rand more people would appreciate it. The buffet is organised chaos hot veg came out after everyone had put remaining warm leftovers on there plates in the evening. We paid to do this one of the nights however there are nice restaurants a 5 min drive away. Overall you could stay next door for twice the price. Apart from the 2 things i pointed out and your not too fussy good value.
We stayed at Wilderness Beach hotel for one night at 23.2. 2010 in two adjacent rooms. The room were air conditioned and spacious, the beds were width and really good. The rooms were at 4. floor and had beautiful side sea view. The rooms had no fridge, but there was easy facility to order ice. We ate there delicious buffet dinner. The room rate included excellent full breakfast. The service was good. The beach was beautiful, but behind steep stairs. The hotel's swimming pool was big and beautiful. We were very pleased with the hotel, excellent value for money.
It is a wonderful hotel to stay at. The location is stunning and I will stay there every time I stay in the Wilderness.
Value for money, Ideally positioned to plan your days ahead, breakfast can be upped a bit, variation would be well received. Omelletes would be nice, as well as haddock but overall an excellent facility for money spent
The hotel is value for money with great view and breakfast. Reception staff could do with a little improvement.
unhelpfull staff at front desk, air conditioner not working
The renovation to the hotel during December was a distraction. The room does not have a bar fridge which would be a big plus. Daily changes to the breakfast buffet would make the meal more interesting for the guests who are staying at the hotel longer than a couple of days. Overall we had a very pleasant stay. The staff is very friendly. The view is spectacular with the beach only a walk a way - is idyllic. It is central for day trips to either the east of west side of it. I would surely recommend it to my friends
We experienced a much enjoyable stay at this hotel, with friendly personnel and very good service.
The hotel looks a little bit weathered but the location is great - right on the hauntingly beautiful Wilderness beach and by the Wilderness National Park. Only 2 minutes drive from the small town of Wilderness, 15 min from Sedgefield and 30-40 min to Knysna. The hotel is clean and the rooms are good. Ours had a sliding door onto the hotel's grassy pool and tennis court area. The room had no mini-bar but TV with satellite movie and sports channels. The two double beds in the room each had wonderful down feather duvets that kept us warm and cosy. The hot buffet breakfast was really excellent. Unfortunately the Outeniqua Choo-choo train that runs from George to Knysna was not running due to heavy flooding in 2007.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It's one of the most beautiful locations in South Africa. The hotel was good and very reasonable. We would stay there again. One recomendation would be to have at least one channel on tv for children, instead of the many sport channels. Thanks
We hoped to get a room on the top floor and with a view to the ocean. We got that kind of room and it was wonderful! Room service was very good. The hotel was quite far away from town centre but its location beside the ocean was good anyway.
only food available on site was in theIrish Pub with a disappointing menu. No internet available - not working. vouchers not free access.
Superb hotel in fantastic surroundings, staff very friendly. We will be back without a doubt. In fact we have stayed here several times already.
Fantastic hotel offering an excellent setting as well as good facilities. Hotel in the process of getting a facelift which will enhance this facility even further. Staff very friendly and always willing to accomodate.
Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was wonderfully situated, and maintained. Areas which could be improved on were room service - very slow and food was cold; ceilings to be dusted as particles were hanging down - very difficult to see in the harsh daylight but very clear at night or in gloom! Replace door locking mechanisms. Thanks for a wonderful long weekend!
Included breakfast perfect. No fridge on room which you need in the hot climate. Bathroom a bit old, but clean.
Excellent stop over for a couple of stays but desparately needs an upgrade. Great location on top of cliff overlooking beach. Need a way for the elderly to get down to the beach. Have stayed here on and off over the past 25 years and look fard to seeing an upgrade but hope prices do not rocket which usually follows.
