Windsor Plaza Hotel Saigon Guest Reviews

4.4 out of 5

We stayed in two hotels in Saigon. The Windsor was an excellent choice. My wife loves to shop- there are three levels of shops in the basement. We wanted to try Vietnamese food. We used the restaurant on the 25th Floor- what a view! The food is fantastic. Unfortunately the wine is still at Western prices but spirits and cocktails are cheap. The hotel is close to Museums and all the sights. They record the number plates of your taxis- taxis ripping you off is a common problem in Saigon. The actual room is quite large, the bathroom is great and the view from our room was also excellent. All the staff we encountered were trying to be pleasant and helpful. To get all this at a reasonable price was truly exceptional.

A good 4 star hotel - it isn't 5 star at all. Service was good, rooms okay - a bit dated and not exactly attractive, but okay for most purposes. Club Lounge was pretty good but not in the class of the InterContinental or Sharaton in Saigon. The food wasn't so great - bland and mass produced and my wife got food poisoning after eating the laksa at the 4th floor restaurant (which was a free for all). The location isn't the best - it is in chinatown and that makes the hotel cheaper. The areas surrounding the hotel is very noisy, crowded and dirty. The bottom three floors of the hotel are a shopping mall (not a problem as the hotel is a separate entrance). The hotel is rather old but everythng worked fine though the pool was very small and dirty and it is too far from the city for busness travellers. Not recommended for business or romance - okay for most travellers though. Would stay again if the price was a lot lower than the central city hotels.

Third time staying here. Located next to An Dong wholesale market will be good for travelers who looking for a bargain. Surround eateries are plenty and at night there are many fruit stall lining up by the road side. The Pho 24 beef noodle shop opposite the hotel is good choice for eating. Breakfast is good and was told that by Nov they also offer choice of Dim Sum breakfast at Chinese restaurant.

The only criticism I have is that though we were staying on a non smoking floor. The room still smelt musty and reeked of stale cigarettes.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Windsor Plaza for 8 nights. The hotel was wonderful and the staff were efficient, friendly and were prepared to do anything to help us enjoy our stay in HCMC. The buffet breakfast was awesome, the shuttle bus service was fantastic and the hotel is just a few minutes from the centre of the city. It was great to be staying out of the centre of the city as it allowed us to see more of the 'locals'. The hotel is very well priced given the fantastic service it provides. It is well worthwhile upgrading to use the executive lounge and business centre as the happy hour each day provides guests with complimentary drinks and delicious nibblies while the business centre gives complimentary internet access. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of food to cater for all tastes. The restaurants and rooftop bar serve great food and drinks and the outdoor pool is a delight. I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel.

A beautiful Hotel inside. Location out a bit, but they do provide a Shuttle service which was very good. Were hassled when checking in to pay for another upgrade - Had a non smoking room, but found the smell of smoke in the hall way very strong. We did enjoy our time there for all of that.

The Hotel was very nice, Staff very friendly and efficient. The only downside we found was the breakfast buffet was the poorest we have ever come across in any hotel.

Good, clean, nice n very friendly staff. U can use shuttle bus to city. Unfortunatly there is no free airport pick up (not like usual 5 star hotel). And if they can get designer n make rooms as a 5 star will be just fine. But service still be very very good. Good baby/child service (playroom, gameroom). Very nice spa but angry manegment (maybe i hv to pay tips to them as wel). Good breakfast buffet. Oh yes, rooftop bar... good relaxation end of the day

Great Hotel at a very affordable price. I would not rate this a 5 star hotel. Parking for visitors is a problem. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Elevators are slow. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Free Wifi is a big plus if you wish to keep in touch with friends at home.

While a little out of town the free shuttle helps and the hotel and cleanliness make up for it. Breakfast buffet excellent.

One of the better hotels in Saigon. Location is abit far from the District 1 but the hotel provides shuttle bus to the district 1. The shuttle bus can accommodate about 12 people maximum so if the bus is full you would have to take a taxi or wait an hour for the next service. It would be good to wait at the hotel lobby at least 5-10mins before the hour and likewise at the various drop-off points. The breakfast is average and serves pretty much the same food everyday with minimal variations. I would recommend after trying the breakfast for the first one or two days to go out for breakfast. The staff are generally polite and friendly and they try their best to communicate in English. Overall I would rate this hotel 8/10. Location would be the only minor problem.

It's my 1st time to HCMC, staying with Windsor Plaza Hotel. It was somehow a distance (about 30 minutes) drive from International Airport. But, if you boarded on Vinasun Taxi, it costed you only about VND110.000. And the staffs at the frontline is giving a excellent services too. Will stay there again if going to HCMC again.

My stay at Windsor Plaza Hotel was pleasant because the staff was very accommodating about all my requests. The rooms were a little small considering it is rated 5-star nevertheless it was cozy and comfortable. Love the fact that wifi was free. Hope they would have more accessible drop off points for their free shuttle service to District 1. Having the main entry at a different level from the lobby was rather odd & inconvenient. I would recommend the hotel for its service and facilities.

We found the people at the windsor plaza hotel fantastic. Whilst staying there I became ill and had to spend some time in hospital. The staff went out of their way to help my wife during this time.

Rooms are very big, clean and nicely decorated. Reception staff know very little English. Buffet breakfast was good, I would not recommend the buffet dinner (over priced for what it is). Shuttle bus runs into the city centre quite frequently, although they do not stop at the market even though you drive straight past it. The room had double glazed windows so we could not hear any traffic or night club noise. I did have a look at the pool, it looked really nice (a bit small) but unfortunately while we were there it was being upgraded.
