Yims House Hotel Seoul

Yims House has such good reviews simply because of its great host, Mr Hyo. He is a nice, friendly and pleasant chap and will readily provide any assistance in terms of sightseeing places and food joints. If you intend to stay with Mr Hyo, who runs the hostel with his mom, take his recommendation to try the buffet BBQ dinner which is less than 10 minutes walk away from the hostel. It is delicious and most of all, it is cheap - only 9,000 won per pax, beer at 2,000 per bottle and it comes with complimentary coffee and ice-cream to round up your meal. The complimentary breakfast that comes with the stay, though simple, (bread with butter and jam, cereal and coffee/tea) is enough to fill your tummy till lunch time and they do not restrict you on the portions. The hostel is also within walking distance to the surrounding attractions and fresh market and other seafood outlets. Definitely a good place to stay.

Safe and very quiet place. Decent place too. Good location near the bus stop when taking the 6011 bus to Incheon Airport, near subways so easily connected and very near palaces of interest.

Very good facility, close to metro station, friendly reception, would like to stay here again and again.

Yims House Hotel is best for travelers who want to save on accommodation expenses. Location is also perfect since it is walking distance from the top tourist spots in Seoul like the famous old palaces as well as the shopping districts. You just have to go out of the hotel to have something for your stomach though as it does not have a restaurant. You may also be surprised (it happened to me) that you would not get the kind of room facilities as what is seen in the website. I was expecting a Western-style bed complete with a bed frame and cushion but we were only provided with a mat. So it's like sleeping on the floor.

It was during winter time, the room is a bit cold. Easy access to airport limousine. 5 minutes walk from subway, not so easy to find for first timer, but owner is very kind to assist - just remember to give them a call for help. Easy to access to nearby area e.g. MyeongDong and Namdemun through nearby local bus stop

A very neat and humble hotel with friendly staffs. Highly recommended for those on budget constraints who just need a comfy place to sleep during the night. Will surely be back again on my next Korea trip... Superb place!

A wee bit tiny, but for the price you pay for prime location, Yim's House Hotel is a very good deal. Very clean and self-contained rooms. The staff can speak English.

1) Diffcult to find the Hotel. Internet booking website did not show the location clearly. 2) no resturant in nearby 3) inside the room is excellent, clean, warm, quiet and good hot shower water. 4) Price is very attractive. 5) people are quite nice. 6) location is close to many sight-seeing places. 7) Subway station is a bit far but within walking distance.

Hotel is rather difficult to find.Is very spartan but OK for the money I suppose.Good for 1 or 2 nights for budget traveller.

Very kind staff. There is free drinking hot and cold water in the hotel.

Clean, affordable, and within easy reach to most tourist places via the seoul metro. The owners were friendly, and my room was cleaned everyday. It might be a little tricky to find the hotel the first time, but the hotel is conveniently located right opposite the Changdeuk Palace, which made taking cabs easy. I enjoyed my stay there, and will definitely go back to this hotel for my next visit to Seoul.

I was very satisfied with our stay at Yims House Hotel Seoul. The location was perfect for easy access to the Subway. Hotel management and staff were very helpful.

According to the price, it is a good deal to stay in this hotel. It is clean and the location is near the center, however as a detail, I want to add that there are no big bath towels in the bathroom, there are only small towels in the room.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Yim's House. The location is very convenient, about a ten minute walk to the subway station and a five minute walk to the bus stop for the airport shuttle. The Yim brothers are also very helpful and accommodating. Although our stay was short, it was pleasant and we would recommend anyone on a budget to stay at this hotel.

The instructions given about how to get to Yims Hotel is not thorough enough. I had a heavy luggage and had to go down a long flight of stairs into the underpass and up a long flight of stairs in order to cross a road leading to Yims Hotel. If I had known that the place is not accessible if you have a luggage on wheels, I would have packed differently. I would only recommened that people with bag packs to travel by the Limosine Bus from the airport, otherwise take a cab or arrange for an airport transfer. Of course, at a cost. Mr Yim charges $70,000 won for a transfer. Otherwise, the room was clean and comfortable. Mr Yim was helpful.

A simple, clean and comfortable hotel in a very handy location, with friendly, English speaking staff. A great base for exploring central Seoul and very good value.

Good hotel for the price. Has everything you need, but just a little less space. Nice staff and the owner speaks okay english. I would go there again. Good location and good price.

We stayed at Yims House Hotel for three nights while on weekend vacation in Seoul. It was great and I will definately stay there the next time I visit Seoul. They speak great English, the price is very good, the rooms are larger than I expected and the hotel, rooms and ensuite were all very clean. The location is great; near the susbway, just down the road from Insadong, across the street from Changdeokgung Palace and across the street from a bus stop for the Seoul city bus tour. It is on a side street so there is little noise. It was not at all what I expected for a budget hotel!
