Good hotel. Ideal location, good room, great bathroom - we were very pleased. A big plus - the normal water pressure (which is rare for Venice).
there is no lift and breakfast at extra cost. The request for an iron was politely declined. Nobody offered to take up luggage.
It's a cosy small hotel right on the main street beside the train station and the entrance to the city centre. A lot of restaurants and shops around. The room is clean. Although small but has everything. Sound proofing could be a problem as we are given a room right beside the stairs. Hotel staff are friendly.
Could be a bit better if there is an elevator.
I recently visited the hotel. location is great for 10 minutes by bus to the bus service is very good! The rooms and bathrooms are great!
Absolutely great location, right next door almost to Santa Lucia train station!Great 24hour reception service. We had an awesome time in Venice and just the right kind of stay!We were lucky to find such a hotel!
Location was great for the train and bus station and close by the vaporetta. BUT it was noisy on the street. Also, there was a funny smell of stagnant water in the bathroom, I didn't complain so my fault.
The hotel was good value in a convenient location.
I had concerns about the hotel and even considered cancelling my booking after reading some bad reviews. In the end, my worst expectations weren't realised. It's not a great place but it is probably what you would expect from an older 2-star hotel. Remember accommodation and space are at a premium in Venice - set your expectations of the room by the hotel's star rating NOT the price of the room. If you want a more modern room and more value for money, look at staying in Venice Mestre - it is only a 10 minute train ride and the trip is only 1 Euro.
Our stay at Zecchini Hotel was excellent. Reception was extremely helpful and friendly, with excellent English to assist with local enquiry. The room was delightful and all exceptionally clean, with bathroom well appointed and all in immaculate state. Location was also great, only a short walk from the station, exactly as per description. Breakfast was also good and service very friendly. This hotel helped make our stay in Venice even more memorable. Thanks.
Breakfast personell not very serviceminded. Excellent location. Lack of varm water, but excellent value for money.
too many stairs to carry luggage breakfast average
Great place to stay to explore the delights of Venice. Room was basic but then you are never there apart from sleeping so it was all we needed. Bathroom clean, staff friendly and breakfast plentiful. I have already recommended it to my friends and family and would recommend it to you.
we enjoyed our stay. the only downfall was the lack of a lift, but it is Venice land of foot travel and stairs and little boats
Like most things in Venice, its old, small, pokey and a little musty but its charming and the location is just perfect. 2 minutes from the main station means you can find it and offload your bags quickly without dragging them through the old streets and a zillion tourists for ages (and believe me, thats a big plus). Like most Italians in Venice, the staff are direct and only as helpful as they need be. Its a curse of the city. But you stay here for the location. Also, note, its not overlooking the Grand Canal. Its just across the road from it.
Staff very pleasant and location great although rooms on street front can be noisy. All round I would go again to Zecchini.
Plenty of towels on check in but for the next 2 days only 1 towel. Air conditioning could have been better and the bed slanted but all in all it was good for the price and location. I would stay there again.
The hotel is situated very close to the railway station (the best way of getting into Venice) simply walk out of the front of the station, turn left, go past the water taxi's and after about 50 metres you are there. The hotel is fine; standard but very clean. It would have benefited from air-con but as we only used it for one night and were there very little then they provided a fan which helped. Breakfast was very simple and limited, but again, the hotel is fantastic as a base to see Venice. If you want more facitilies (do you want to be hanging around a hotel in Venice?!?) then I would look for something else/more expensive. Hope this helps.
Good value for money. You get what you pay for.
Fantastic location in Venice within easy walking distance to the main train station. The main plaza is about a 30 minute walk but it's an interesting walk along shopping streets. The main canal is close if you prefer public transport but the water bus takes about the same time as walking so a taxi may be preferred. No air conditioning in the room was a problem as it got pretty hot in summer. A fan was provided though which did help.
