The hotel is conveniently located close to Beijing railway stn, subway, and there is a good coach connection from the airport. The hotel is located down an old hutong, but dont be put off by the walk to it. There is a railway behind the hotel, but we were not affected by noise from it. The hotel is simple, but meets all the needs of a traveller on a budget. The rooms are small but have enough facilities (air con, shower, kettle, soaps etc). The hotel has a restaurant (good but not expensive), travel desk, small shop
Awkward to find and poor surroundings but good standard and great value.
one bed 1.35*2m ,free for access internet with your computer, very quiet ,sunny
one big bed ,1.5m*2m very comfortable
Two beds 1.2m*2m sunny,quiet,comfortable
Once you the location of the hotel than its very clean, resturant got geat food and staff is very helpful. For sure I will stay again if I am in Beijing
Good average cost/facility hotel in Beijing. Clean, relatively centrally located and fair value for the money.
Great location, close to railway station, subway, silk and pearl markets, Tianamen Square. Forbidden City. Taxi driver found it hard to find as it was in an alley. Looks dodgy but very safe. Friendly staff. awful breakfasts/meals, hard beds and buck wheat pillow although slept Ok. Very noisy from staff moving early in the morning, you could not sleep past 7.00am. Trains at the back but not a bother. Double room very small but saw an apartment which was huge and very classy. Tip - always get your taxi driver to drop you off at the main station, they know where to go then.
great hotel for budget travellers, location great for city centre, nice courtyard for sitting out and having a beer and a chat with fellow guests
Location: dark backstreets (my wife would not dare to walk there alone) in walking distance from the Beijing main railway station. Rooms: in this price-class way above average (IBIS-type), modern, very clean, chinese-typicial extreme hard mattress, western toilets, modern shower cabin, > 50 chinese TV channels (one english speaking) and flat screen, free inroom Ethernet in-room (and free WIFI in lobby), I believe that the only difference between double and single rooms are the the amount of towels and soaps delivered. 4 level high (no lifts). Extreme friendly and nice reception staff and basic english no problem.
Good location to explore Beijing. About 500 meters from the subway and the Beijing Railway Station. I STRONGLY SUGGEST getting directions to the hotel from the Beijing Railway Station IN CHINESE from the hotel by e-mail to give your Taxi driver before arriving. The hotel is on a side street and none of the cab drivers I had knew the hotel or street name. It's easy once you've arrived the first time, but a bit of a trick at first. I loved having a computer in the room and the pricing was outstanding for a Capital City hotel.
A large number of westerners/expats stay at this hotel and there is very little in regards to information and news available for foreigners i.e. english language newspapers and magazines. Rooms are clean and comfortable, showers need repair as they constantly leak at the base. Staff are courteous and helpfull
it was great to have a free internet connection. Everyone was nice and helpful.
Excellent service (in English) and the rooms are very well maintained and clean. The breakfasts are somewhat ordinary, but its close to many restaurants. If you can work out the bus routes, is a cheap way to get around Beijing as there is a main bus departure point close to its location.
This hotel is located at the end of an alley that might give you the impression that it is really unsafe, but for your relief there's a police station just right next to the hotel so I wouldn't think of an unsafe location. Rooms are alright & clean, I don't have any complaints about it. Staff might seem a bit unfriendly but just remember that not all of them speak english. Free internet and the lobby where it is makes it great to hang in lobby while enjoying a bottle of cheap beer that you can buy just a block away at a small corner store 100 feet away from hotel, you'll have the chance to meet a lot of travelers in the internet/lobby area.
This hotel was clean and servicible, while not being five star, it was more than adequate to my family's needs. Convinently located near the Beijing train station and major shopping centre, and about 80yuan taxi ride from the airport. We stayed here twice, as I was pleased with the service and price.
The staff are courteous and helpful. The room was clean and kept that way throughout our stay there. The location is in a rather seedy area but in general close to transportation subway and etc. Even though it is close to the train station and the noise level was low and we had good rest each night.
Good value and in the centre of town. They also have their own travel agent on site which is useful for booking trips to the Great Wall
Good value for money.e.g. has unlimited internet access in rooms, free luggage store) To find this gem when fronting Beijing Railway Station, turn left (east) take first street right (just past the bus interchange) you see a police station at the end of this short street, turn right and you can't miss it. From Beijing airport take #3 airport shuttle bus 16 yuan, it takes you to just west of the railway square. Proceed as describeed above, distance just on 1km
Drivers find it hard to locate the hotel. However, its location is still a plus since it is situated only a walking distance from the Beijing Railway Station and Beijing Subway. Also it is just a few minutes drive to Tiananmen Square, The Forbidden City and the Wangfujing shopping area. No elevators in the hotel and no bellboy around. So it was hard for us to drag our luggage to and from the third floor. The receptionists are quite cordial and can speak English though. The rooms are decent and clean.
Off the main road and difficult to find. It was at the back of the railway station through some side streets. But it was useful being near the railway station, when finding your way home. Staff were excellent, English good, restaurant (Chinese) very good. Western breakfast needs some attention, such as fruit juice, cereal, fruit, butter, milk and tea bags. Chef happy to cook eggs if you ask. The price is right but no lift to the 3rd floor. Would stay there again. Terry & Cherie (New Zealand) September 2007
Very nice room for the price. Located about a five minute walk to the Beijing train station in the south. Location feels a little dodgy as it's not on a main road but it is next to a police station so it feels a little safer. No frills but very clean and has internet access. Would recommend for the budget traveller. They offer breakfast buffett for a nominal cost.
Zhongan is very central located, and it is easy to travel around by bus, train ond subway. Bus is very cheap! The breakfast is also cheap, but not very good. The railway station is close to the hotel, but does not make much noise. It is a simple and ok place to stay.
