HANOI PLAZA HOTEL

"The hotel is located in the Old French Quarter, about 15 minute walk to Hoan Kiem lake. It's close to shops, cafes and quaint restaurants. The staff speak relatively good English especially Lily, the Front Desk staff cum Cashier. The hotel employees are friendly and accommodating. Room is small but well kept and clean, except for the drawer and some funny smell permeating in the closet. No windows but has cable TV, ref and hot/cold shower. Breakfast has limited choices (baguette, jam, french toast, egg and meatloaf, cheese). The hotel is a good bargain for its price. Will stay here again." - Michael Brian Calaycay

"Not sure that the old quarter of hanoi is nearly as interesting as the lonely planet would like you to believe, but if you insist on going there then you could do a lot worse than stay in this place. Not spectacular but gives you everything you need and what do you expect for $25 a night. Definitely a safe choice if this is your budget." - Anonymous

"The hotel is clean and in good location (within walking distance to the famous Hoan Kiem Lake). The downside is that the street in front of the hotel is a busy street, so it is recommended that you request a room located at the back (not facing the street) if you don't want to hear the buzzing traffic in the middle of the night. Please note that the family room offered consists of one double bed & one single bed or three single beds, no double beds as that mentioned in the bed configuration when you make room reservation. The tour desk at the hotel offers various tours within or around Hanoi, but the price is somewhat higher than if you shop around (quite a few travel agents nearby the hotel), but it may be worth it for the convenience it offers. To sum up, the location is convenient, price is OK, room is clean. Hotel staff are helpful and friendly." - Anonymous

"It is awfully noisy at night with the nightclub next door. Beside, no wifi works as described, even LAN network is not stable. Breakfast is from junk food (instant noodle) named beatifully. Reception is bad at English and too curious. City View Deluxe Room has no view. 6th floor is underconstruction and very messy. I never come back here again, for sure." - chi lan pham
