"Room was clean and large with a great cooking space if required. The resort was very clean, quiet and relaxing. Close to the CBD, there is no restaurant in house, however, its proximity to the main street well compensates. Would recommend to stay and would stay again." - John Kavanagh
"We stayed at the Retreat at Port Douglas in May 2008 for one week. We really enjoyed our stay and would be pleased to recommend it to anyone. It was extremely well placed and within a short walk to the beach, town and marina. The manager and staff were very knowledable and helpful, they do not however service your room at all and charged us for an extra roll of toilet paper." - Anonymous
"We had never been to Australia before and this was our first port of call, the accommodation was very good, it was in an excellent location as it was close to all amenities, the owners were very knowledgeable about all trips which we were able to book through them at no extra charge. " - Liza Winn
"While the room was clean, the hotel had a problem with insects. Our room and bed were full of ants! There was no housekeeping and clean towels, toilet paper, etc. were all extra. On a positive note, the pool was great and the hotel was only 3 blocks from the center of town." - Anonymous
