"A very clean hotel with great personal service AND the most valuable facility in Athens for those with a rented car to travel through the rest of the country: indoor parking. The hotel was also <100m from a metro station AND the new Acropolis museum is practically next door.
We got a room with view to the Parthenon. The room was a bit small, but very quiet, even though the hotel is behind a central avenue.
It is close to everything a visitor wants to see in Athens-10min walk to Plaka and Old Athens, but tucked in an area that local Greeks live, thus, in the small streets in the surrounding area there are several great eateries, catering mainly for the locals, including patisseries and pancake places - a much better alternative to any hotel breakfast.
It was Christmas at the time and raditional Greek Christmas sweets were on offer to all guests at any time in the lobby, giving a great festive homecoming feeling.

"A terrific location (minutes from the Acropolis metro stop, and from the Plaka). Small but very comfortable rooms. Free internet. A lovely rooftop restaurant and bar with a stunning view of the Acropolis. Only downsides were that the carpet in the room was quite stained, and that no one even offered assistance with bringing my luggage to my room. The Peacock restaurant in the Roof Garden and in the ground floor lobby of
the hotel has its own special style offering national and international specialites.
In the roof garden with the modern wood deck, visitors, apart from a delicious
dinner, have the possibility to enjoy a snack or a drink with the magical view to
the Acropolis.
Breakfast is served from 07.00 a.m to 11.00 a.m, in the Winter Garden (with
natural light) in the lobby.
The central restaurant is open from 11.00 in the morning till 01.00 after
midnight and the bar from 11.00 in the morning till 02.30 after midnight.
Hera Hotel, disposes of a well observed area for events, fully equipped with modern supervisory means.
