"We thought the location of the room we stayed in was not good as it overlooked the pool and bar, the noise from both those areas was unacceptable which went until late in the night. I understand because of the layout it could not be helped but it was not good either. I do not know what can be done about it but I am afraid I will not stay there again. The Poenamo Village Hotel is conveniently located just of the Northern Motorway, 10 minutes drive from the City Centre, right next to the Takapuna Golf course and close to Takapuna beach. Within minutes of the hotel you’ll find the North Shore Events Centre, North Harbour Stadium and the Bruce Mace Centre, where all major concerts, sports games and conventions on the North shore take place.
Since new ownership in November 2004, the Poenamo has been given an extreme makeover. With a British style restaurant ‘Fools and Horses’, Irish pub ‘Craic Shack’ and Sports Bar ‘Pats Garage’, the Poenamo is one of the main attractions on the North shore, catering for people of all kinds.
All 31 rooms are designated non-smoking, sleep 2-4 people and have:

From the airport take the Northern Motorway 1, continue this road until you’re over the Harbour Bridge, take the 4th exit ‘Northcote Road’, turn left and the hotel is the first building on your right hand side.
If you come from direction Whangarei, take the Southern Motorway 1, take the Northcote Road exit, turn right, drive over the motorway, and you will find the hotel on your right hand side.
