Atocha Railway Station is the core of Madrid transport network (high speed rail, trains, metro and buses). Inaugurated in the 19th century, the station is one of the emblematic landmarks of Madrid. Its atrium has been converted into a greenhouse, to make the wait more enjoyable for travellers. This tropic indoor garden has a surface area of 4,000 sq m and more than 500 species, including carnivorous plants, water plants, goldfish and its famous turtles.
