"A nice small chain style hotel on the outskirts of Edinburgh. A 20-25 minute walk to the centre,but on a main bus route so there are plenty of buses. Food in the hotel was good. A busy hotel at weekends with weddings etc , but quite in the room we stayed in (2nd floor)." - Barry Attwood

The Ellersly House Hotel is the perfect location for both business and pleasure, ideally located next to the heart of Edinburgh city centre the hotel mixes an ideal location for exploring the historic city centre with suburban relaxation hidden from the hustle and bustle.
Originally built as a grand Edwardian Manor, an imposing building set within a walled enclosure with expansive gardens. Ellersly House was transformed into a manor house hotel in 1910 and has remained as such to the present day, still retaining its original walled perimeter and a small section of garden.
The hotel comprises 57 bedrooms over three floors with lift access to all rooms, all rooms benefit from TV's, on demand movies and en-suite facilities.
In the morning a full Scottish and continental style breakfast selection is available in the ground floor restaurant, a truly original space boasting high ceilings and period architecture, an inspiring start to any day in Edinburgh.
IMPORTANT INFO - As of the 1st December 2007, development of residential accommodation will start in the rear car park and gardens, which are no longer controlled by the hotel. The owners & main contractor have notified us that building works might operate between 7am & 4pm Mon-Fri, until March 2009. Bedrooms to the rear of the hotel will have obstructed views & the private gardens have reduced in size. Car parking will be limited to the front car park only. |

From Glasgow M8 or Airport. Follow signs to city centre along A8, through Corstorphine. At Murrayfield rugby stadium, turn left into Murrayfield road. First left into Ellersly Road and the hotel is situated on your right hand side. |
