"Room and bathroom were VERY dirty. Towels provided were all thin and stained. Was afraid to walk on the carpet in bare feet. But, you get what you pay for, price was good but next time I'll save a little more to at least stay somewhere clean." - Tim Dugan
"The facility was cleaner then some I have seen which was a pleasant surprise. The pillows were feather, also a nice surprise. The air conditioner was horridly loud- some sort of squealing associated and the room didn't stay cool if you turned it off...maybe it was because the filter was incredibly filthy. There was only one soap and shampoo, you didn't even get a second one for the bath. The number 9 didn't work on the phone and mgmt didn't do anything about it. Free Breakfast was supposed to open at 6 but the chef had not arrived and we needed to leave- not acceptable. "The ice makers need to get fixed. Walking each time threw the bar area to get to the one icemaker that worked was not pleasant, especially when you have a child with asthma and you come back to the room smelling like smoke! Tahitian Resort is a 140 rooms hotel in Tarpon Springs off the Gulf Coast of Mexico on Florida's "nature" coast in the Tampa Bay area. Deep-sea fishing, scuba diving, para-sailing, jet skis or boating are all options for enjoying the Gulf's warm waters. The hotel boasts a beautiful and tranquil 75-foot heated swimming pool, set in a tropical landscape with palms, flowers and plants. The town of Tarpon Springs is a historic town of Greek origin sometimes called the Sponge Capital of the world. Shop in the open-air market of distinctive and quaint shops and enjoy different dining experiences. Watch local divers collect sponges. Bike, walk, roller blade or run the Pinellas Trail, a 42-mile paved, scenic trail. Drive to a different beach every day or rent a Ski-Doo or boat and explore the beauty by water. Just 30 minutes to the east is Tampa and Busch Gardens, 30 minutes south is Clearwater and just 45 minutes north is Weekie Wachee. The hotel is three miles from Lake Tarpon. The hotel is situated at 2337 US Highway 19 and on the edges of Tarpon Springs town. From Tampa International Airport take the Veteran's Highway 589 heading North, exit onto Highway 54 going West, stay on for 10 miles and then take US 19 going South and the hotel is 1.5 miles away on the right hand side.
If traveling from the north then head south on Interstate 75, pass Land O'Lakes and then take the Highway 54 going West, drive for 10 miles then take US 19 going South and the hotel is 1.5 miles on the right. |
