"Very friendly and well priced. Breakfast was fabulous!! The stairs were a bit tough for carrying up suitcases - we were on the second floor, and parking was a problem - we almost got a parking ticket! But a car isn't needed as it is a short sstroll to the centre of town and there seemed to be a good network of buses. I would definately stay there again." - Mary Edwards

Originally a traditional Georgian townhouse designed by the renowned architect William Playfair for a rich merchant family, built in 1820, the Greenside Hotel, at number 9 Royal Terrace, is situated in a quiet tree-lined terrace in the city centre. The hotel is situated only a short walk from Waverley train station and St Andrews Square bus station. Princes Street and Royal Mile are 10 min walk from the hotel.

Getting There:

By Road: follow signs to city centre then proceed to Queen Street. Continue to the east end of Queen Street. At the roundabout, turn left and at the next roundabout turn right, after which take the immediate right onto Royal Terrace.

By Rail: from Waverley station exit to Princes Street, turn right towards Carlton Hill and left onto Leith Street. Walk downhill then at the second roundabout turn right into Royal Terrace.

By Air: take Airlink bus to Waverley Bridge then follow the directions above.
