"We had a room on the 14th floor with a lovely view of Homantin. It's unusual to have no tall buildings blocking the view in Hong Kong. There are bus stops right outside the YMCA (No 7 and 8 and a few other bus routes) and a mini van stop for the Mongkok Train Station just a few steps further down Waterloo Road. The MTR station (underground train) is just five minutes walk away. The location is very convenient. We didn't have meals in the YMCA restaurants. The buffet seems to be quite good. We took a bus and went to the YWCA restaurant for a meal one evening. It was very good value for money.
Everyone was friendly and helpful during our visit. We had a lot of baggage. Without their help, it would have been very hard for us. I think the YMCA (Waterloo Road) is ideal for anyone who is looking for a decent place at a reasonable price to stay. The location couldn't have been better. " - Lorna Tsang

"The hotel was conveniently located near an MTR station, although the walk down Nathan Road takes about 20 minutes give or take a few stops in shops etc to recover from the humidity!
Staff were courteous and helpful. Although the room was small it was functional, and the shower was hot. There was a good sized fridge in the room to store water etc. I appreciated a kettle in the room as I drink herbal tea but had to use a glass.There was no coffee or tea available. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. I did, however, request a fried egg and got a scrambled one! So not sure what the chef regards as a fried egg! To prepare myself for a feast I used to walk around the area half hour prior to breakfast. The post office is not far down Nathan Road and there is an excellent supermarket ( Wellcome) located about 15 minutes walk in Waterloo Road.
I did try a latte in the hotel cafe and it was absolutely disgusting as it was made with condensed milk!" - JOAN COBERN
