"Base Auckland Central Backpackers is a well organised quality backpackers accomodation. I found the staff to be exceptionally helpful beyond the call of duty. The premises is clean, very tidy, and spacious. The cleaning ladies and house keeping staff were especially friendly and I think their standard of workmanship is outstanding. The showers were difficult to operate and quite small, and the heating was a bit too warm for me, especially on the third floor office area. I got very little sleep because of the airing unit and the refrigerator turning off and on during the night, and the street noise down below. However, overall, I think this is an upmarket establishment for a backpackers, and one which I would not hesitate to stay at again. Its very central location suited my needs perfectly as well. Getting There:

FROM THE AIRPORT: Take the Airbus and ask to be dropped at ACB. The Airbus leaves every 20minutes and will drop you at our door.
DRIVING: Go to the centre of Auckland city and find the main street. This is Queen St and we are at number 229 on the corner of Darby St.
WALKING: We are just a short 5 minute walk from all main train, bus & ferry terminals.

The Atrium carpark is located near the hostel on Albert Street. You can get a discounted overnight rate of $9 or 24hour parking ticket available at reception for $22.
