"The hotel room was dirty to the point where we found a beer bottle lid on the floor and 20 pence piece. the bathroom lino was split in the area where you get out of the bath and the wood panelling behind the sink had a large splinter that actually stuck in my foot as I got washed in the morning. The bed sheets were clean however the bedspread on top was badly stained and the bed itself was in need of replacing.
I did not manage to get any sleep as the room we were in was above the main reception and the staff were extremely noisy through the night. I regularly stay away in hotels with my job and I have never had such an uncomfortable, bad night before.
The cutlery and crockery in the morning at breakfast was dirty and the butter and jam that people had taken to their table to have with breakfast that was not used was put back into the breakfast section for other customers to use. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would certainly never go back thier." - Debbie Bond

"Waited nearly 1 hour before getting checked in, due to over bookings. Bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. Wanted to stay in manchester but no hotels available, had to pay £15 for taxi oneway. Have stayed in much better hotels for less money in past. I would not stay at the Britannia Stockport again. " - Carol Freeman
