"The hotel, its surroundings and staff were great. We had a fabulous long week-end. The location is good too as its not far from Vesuvius, Pompeii, Naples or the Amalifi Coast but rural Italy. The other bonus and nice surprise for me were the services offered of a masseuse/beautician who was excellent and very resonable.
The hotel is a popular place for weddings so if you want to escape it may be worth checking their events first. Also the dining facilities are reduced at these times. " - Anonymous

|
We are glad to show you "Certosa di San Giacomo", an ancient monastery with eighteenth century church surrounded by 42 hectares of green grass and flowery gardens.
The monastery, built between 1197 and 1209 at Lauro, a medieval small town in Avellino province, became soon a place of agricultural production very famous for the quality of its products, and a place of spiritual refuge.
In 1620 it became an Abbey and in the following century it had a new splendour thanks to a complete remake. By the laws of 1808 about the confiscation of Church property, the "Certosa" is transformed in a magnificent country residence.
Today a careful remaking has given it new life transforming it in an ideal place for a pleasent stay and weekends into full contact with nature. The Hotel has 45 rooms, 3 typical restaurant, a swimming pool, gym and all the facilities for an unforgettable stay.
