"This hotel looks grander from it's photos, having said that it's close to the centre of Cairns for shops and restaurants. Our room overlooked the main road and roundabout which was a bit noisey. The bedroom is OK, bathroom needs updating though, depending on your expectations. Staff were helpful and polite. I would probably stay again but realise it's not quite the colonial splendor as I had hoped for." - Anonymous

Hotel Description:    The Hotel Cairns is centrally located just 1 block from the city centre of Cairns and 5 minutes drive from the airport. The hotel is reminiscent of the tropical ' Queenslander' style properties that provides a true experience and tropical ambience. The Award Winning 2006 and 2007 Plantation Restaurant is open 6.00am-9.30am for breakfast daily and 5pm-10pm for dinner Tue-Sat.

Getting There: 5 minutes from the city centre, bus and rail terminus.
If self driving from the south follow the Bruce Highway into the city, the name of the road then changes to Florence Street. If self driving from the north follow the Captain Cook Highway into the city, the name of road then changes to Sheridan Street and you need to turn left at Florence Street.
