The Hotel Graf Stadion is situated in the historical and central district of "Josefstadt", within walking distance from the Rathaus, Burgtheater, Parlament, Hofburg, museums and other sights of the city.
"Small is beautiful"
This proverb exactly hits the point when characterizing Vienna's smallest and most charming district. Located only a stone's throw from the heart of the city, the scene is set for multicultural life in typical "Viennese Beisels" coffeehouses and restaurants. Beautifully renovated buildings around little squares, quiet side-streets and green inner court-yards together with the impressive city palais Auersperg, Schönborn, Strozzi and the world-famous "theater in der Josefstadt" create the unique atmosphere of this district.
The hotel is named after Johann Philipp Graf Stadion ( 1763 - 1824 ) who was a statesman and foreign minister.
It was built in the Biedrmeier epoche style in 1824 / 1825, and is registered as an historic monument. The hotel was renovated throughout the past years. After a modernisation in 1984, followed a complete reorganization and redecoration during march/april 1999. All rooms, also the reception lobby and breakfast room have been adjusted to the higher 3 star hotel comfort. |
