"Nice Hotel with clean, and functional ammenities. The only problem with the location is actually its location. Great in terms of being downtown, Bad because its located on a street with about 10 bars/pubs on it. You can imagine the noise at night. My room faced the street with these bars, so i can't say what its like for rooms on the other side of the building, but unless you're either a) a heavy sleeper, b) enjoy listening to drunken scotsmen belt out drinking songs at 3AM, or c) actually part of that crowd, then you may want to ask for a room on the quiet side, or find some place else. "Very friendly staff and good location. When booking I was a little concerned about breakfast being in the pub next door but this was not a problem as the pub is really just a connection of the actual hotel with a dividing door. The only problem is if you have difficulty with stairs as most of the rooms require you to climb stairs, anything from 3 or 4 to 4 flights. The other real advantage is the luggage room which allows guests to store luggage for a few hours to a couple of days. A real plus for me when I was staying on the third floor. Wireless internet is available within the public areas of the hotel & is free to use for hotel residents.
The hotel operates on a room only basis, however, in the morning a full Scottish breakfast is available for a very reasonable price in Biddy Mulligans Pub on the ground floor, the pleasant atmosphere & hearty breakfast served by our helpful staff combine to form a great start to any day in Edinburgh.

From airport of M8 Glasgow, follow A8 signs to City Centre. At west end of Princes Street turn right into Lothian Road. Then 1st left into King Stables Road. Continue until you reach the Grassmarket and turn left. The hotel is located at the end of the Grassmarket and on the corner of Victoria Street. |
