"Lots of character and sympathetically restored to make the rooms comfortable and interesting. Quietly situated, except for the clock from the abbey next door which make a very pleasant chime. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Staying on the upper floors could be a problem if you have heavy luggage as there is no lift. The village itself is charming, with lovely walks and a choice of four restaurants within a three minute walk." - John Fox

At Il Chiostro Hotel, nestled in Ticino Park, between Abbiategrasso e Vigevano you will experience, at a distance of centuries, the ancient Foresteria of Morimondo Abbey offering a pleasant stay and an excellent rest surrounded by history and in total harmony with nature.
At the entrance to Milan, near Abbiategrasso, lies Santa Maria di Morimondo Abbey, a Lombard historic monument of the 12th century. The Abbey has been set up by monks coming from France and arrived in the Milanese plain in 1134.
Its history is intense from the origins and it interlaces with the contrasts between Guelphs and Ghibellines, Empire and Common, before with Federico Barbarossa, and then with Federico II.
The Cistercian Monks consider architecture as strictly connected to the spirituality reflecting its strength and inner essentiality combined with simplicity.
The Il Chiostro Hotel is placed in the ancient Foresteria of the Abbey, restored in 2000 keeping unaltered the charm of the century.

Coming from Milan: Via Lorenteggio follow the signs to Abbiategrasso and at the first roundabout on the left continue to Vigevano, and at the traffic light on the left go straight up until Morimondo.
From motorway A4 (MI-TU): at Boffalora escape, continue to Magenta, Robecco Sul Naviglio, Abbiategrasso, and follow the signs to Vigevano and Morimondo.
From bypass Ovest: exit Nuova Vigevanese direction Abbiategrasso, at Abbiategrasso at the first roundabout on the left go on to Vigevano and at the first traffic light on the left always straight up until Morimondo.
From motorway A7 (GE-MI): Exit Bereguardo, take the SS526 direction Bereguardo, pass Motta Visconti, Besate and Morimondo.
