EUROSTARS INTERNATIONAL PALACE ROME

"This was a four star hotel. We booked it for a bit of luxury. The room was very small, room 130. The hotel staff were unhelpful and rude and never apologised even when clearly in the wrong. On the morning we were leaving we were persuaded to take a limousine to the airport. We booked it at 7 am for 8am. By 8 10 am it had not arrived. When we asked the same receptionist shrugged and said there was no car available. He did not think to tell us or that he should have organised alternative transport. We were left rushed and in the hands of the porter who did get us a taxi. Also the dining room was closed and breakfast was in a bar accross the road. The food was ok but on the last morning by 7 15 every table was dirty as a big party was leaving early and they did not have enough cups to provide tea or coffee to the next sitting. Disappointing hotel, over priced at £150 per night and over rated. " - Anonymous

"I think most rooms in Rome, indeed Europe, are small and ours was no exception. Our room faced into an air shaft making it the quietest room in Rome (great for sleeping and getting over jetlag). As we did not spend much time there it didn't bother us, but might upset others. The concierge was very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was not included in the cost of our room. There was an abundance of foods but it was expensive and who wants to pay that much for cappucino from a machine- especially in the land of cappucino! If you are very hungry it might be worthwhile. Adjacent to the hotel (and dining room) is a small bar that served the real deal as far as espresso and cappucino plus a small array of breakfast pastries. This was the more satisfying option of the two." - Alison Brown
