RISING DRAGON HOTEL HANOI

"I recently stayed there with my sister and elderly parents. The staff were very helpful and friendly and their English was good. There is no lift but they were very good to put my parents on the first floor. The reception staff will carry your bags up for you. The rooms 03 were bigger than 02 on each floor and the back rooms were quiet away from the honking traffic. Linda" - NEIL TAYLOR

"The hotel is owned by a Vietnamese and his American wife. Downside for us was no lift and our room was situated on the 5th floor. The room was also quite tight inasmuch as we could not get the wardrobe door open because one of the twin beds was in the way. However this was more than made up for by the situation of the hotel right in the middle of the Old Quarter. Also the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful, for instance after returning to collect our bags (which we had left at the hotel when we went on a two day trip to Halong Bay) prior to catching a train, we were asked if we would like to make use of a shower and then given bread and fruit to take with us on the overnight train. Very good value hotel which we would recommend despite its deficiencies. " - Robert Sinclair

"The facilities and services are quite basic in line with the rating. Everything worked, the room was clean and spacious and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's a very busy street so it's noisy even with the double doors but the location in the old quarter is great. If you want 4-5 stars then try the Sofitel but otherwise the Rising Dragon is a good base for exploring the most interesting parts of Ha Noi.
