"The Cottages were very modern and appealing - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would stay again. Only problem was having a bbq by the pool as one family seemed to take over the whole area and we felt very awkward being there and went back to our cottage to have our meal. Some sort of rules I think need to be set up so that everyone can enjoy having a bbq by the pool, otherwise my family had no complaints about Russell Cottages - they were excellent." - David Warburton

Russell Cottages is local in Central Russell. YOU MUST ARRIVE BEFORE 10pm as that is the last car ferry to Russell from the main land.
From Auckland - take state highway 1 to Whangarei. From there, follow direction (north) Kawakawa. From there, follow direction Russell/Paihia/Bay of Islands. At Opua, turn right to the car ferry (available until 10pm).
From car ferry landing, Russell is 10 minutes away. The Russell Cottages entrance is local on 16 Chapel Street which is one of the main streets of Russell.
Alternatively, the old Russell road from 20km after Whangarei on the right is a beautiful scenic recently tarred road (1/2 hr more). Or from Paihia (buses from Auckland direct) by passenger ferry every 20 minutes until 10pm. |

YOU MUST ARRIVE BEFORE 10pm as that is the last car ferry to Russell from the main land. |
