"Very pleasant hotel, but not very well situated. Kind and competent service. Wonderful choice for the breakfast. Quite and cosy room. One remark though - the windows were not cleaned for a while." - Stefan Nontchev
"My husband and I stayed there for 3 nights in June. While the accomodation was somewhat basic, it was great value for money! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a nice selection of rolls, cereal, fruit, yogurt, coffee/tea/juice, and assorted meats/cheese. There was a cute little bar at the front. Based on previous reviews, we asked for a quiet room and that's what we received. It was only a 10 minute walk to Gare du Midi Station and 20 minute walk to the Grand Place. At first, we were somewhat concerned about the neighborhood, and when we were out the first night, we took a taxi back to the hotel after dark, but did walk back the next 2 nights (around 10pm) and didn't feel uncomfortable at all. I just wish we'd had time to explore some of the local cafes.
If you want to explore Brussels on a budget and don't mind basic accomodation in an area that isn't the most pristine, give it a try. We'd definitely go back again!
