"Very good apart from the noise. It is situated near the main NZ highway 1 and trucks pound past through the night and day. So if you are unlucky enough to get a room facing Highway 1 it is not good, in fact it is aweful." - David Denham

Hotel Description:    Mercure Hotel Leisure Lodge "Dunedins Garden Hotel" is a 4 star hotel set amongst beautiful garden surroundings with plenty of guest carparking. 5 mins from town and just next to the Dunedin Botanical Gardens. Also on site is the fabulous McGavins Restaurant and Bar.

The Mercure Leisure Lodge is 1.5 km from the centre of Dunedin, set in landscaped grounds and overlooking the Botanic Gardens. The lodge is situated on the site of the original McGavins Brewery and features 76 rooms, a restaurant, lobby bar, business centre and free car parking. It is also close to Univerisity of Otago, Dunedin Hospital and many key attractions, including Baldwin Street, claimed to be the steepest street in the world.
