"Nice exterior and lobby. However the rooms are very disappointing. We have no idea what contractor was used for the 'renovation' but the room doors don't close or open properly, the paint on the windows frames (or windows!) and the bathroom tiling are appalling, the windows are covered in grime and so are the curtains. The breakfast was good but the sitting arrangements very uncomfortable. Overall we were happy to leave the hotel and will never return" - Anonymous
"Friendly service, great location." - Anonymous
"Apart from a fantastic young man as manager, this hotel is terrible. We found little kids shoes under our bed and half drunk bottles of coke.. That was before we spent the first night. The bathroom was terrible and dont EVER lift the vinal mat in the shower. NOT for families looking for a good budget hotel. This made our 2 day stay in Washinton DC miserable." - Anonymous
"The Braxton Hotel is in an excellent location but my guess is that it has not been remodeled since WWII. Everything is more or less worn out and falling apart. The breakfast provided is fine though there really is nowhere to sit and eat it, the rooms are cleaned daily but the walls and carpets are so old that you can hardly tell and the staff is very helpful with solving problems and answering questions. Everything in my room worked which is a definite plus - shower, toilet, TV, air conditioner. I felt safe within the hotel even thought the doorlocks are the same as on your home bathroom. The price is low but unless your budget is really strained, this isn't a hotel to stay in for more than one night (if your demands are very low)." - Randver Fleckenstein
